Ted Cruz: Trump Is ‘Afraid’ to Debate
Breitbart ^ | 04/20/16 | Pam Key

Posted on 04/20/2016 8:23:27 PM PDT by writer33

Wednesday while campaigning in Hershey PA, Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)said his rival Donald Trump was “afraid of a debate” with him because he lacked “substantive solutions” on policy.

Cruz said, “What I agree is that the Democratic process works, and Donald whines and complains when the voters reject him. The voters are going to decide. We’ve won five states in a row. Donald won his home state, which surprised nobody. And it’s the people — we are seeing Republicans uniting behind our campaign. Because if Donald is the nominee, Hillary wins and she wins by double digits. The stakes for our country are too great to continue down this disastrous economic road and this foreign policy that empowers our enemies. And so I couldn’t be more encouraged at seeing the unity we are having across the country. Donald’s desperation had everyone wanting to just give him the race. It shows that he’s scared when the people decide. You know, if Donald had confidence in his positions, we’d have a debate in Pennsylvania, before Pennsylvania votes. What is Donald Trump saying to the people of Pennsylvania that he thinks they don’t deserve a debate? What does it say about the corrupt big government Democrats that they’re willing to have debates. That Hillary Clinton is more willing to have her positions challenged than Donald Trump? I think that’s disgraceful. I think any candidate owes it to the voters to defend their positions.

Ted sCruz had a rally in Philly 2 or 3 days ago, 22 people showed up to hear his BS. If Trump drew 22 people you guys would be posting it non stop, but with sCuz crickets.

You’re as phony as Teddy bear.

“...Even the uncommitted delegates will be looking to cast in with the most likely winner, instead of another also-ran...”

Absolutely correct. The uncommitted delegates are going to want no part of voting for a candidate who lost the vote count. The pressure to vote for Cruz who had millions less votes than Trump will dissipate completely and there will be no momentum for it. At all. Trump will get the number he needs ahead of time anyway.

Also- I think this is correct about Kasich - that his hope is that Trump might want to make a deal with him for VP for his delegates.

So I think you should also look at Cruz’ failed political record. He failed in beating Trump in primary states, he only drew 22 people at a rally in Philly 3 days ago, he lost every debate to Trump, he cosponsored the Corker Bill and voterd for it, he did nothing to stop the Gang of 8, he has his own Bang of 8 problem. The list goes on and on.

“It doesn’t mean a thing. Because it’s not the majority of delegates. It means you have a lead in delegates and nothing more.”

Wow. You remind me of the distraught woman in Jeremiah Johnson, putting the hat and shoes on her child who was slain by the indians.

“Everything’s going to be just fine, but you’ll catch your death of cold if you don’t put on your things!”

Cruz is done. Deal with it.

Why in the world should Trump take time off the campaign trail to debate Cruz? Cruz & Kasich are out, they just won’t accept it! Trumps needs to focus on Hillary. Onward and upward!!!

Give it up Ted. There’s no upside for Donald to debate you...you’re the only one who would benefit. He’s so far ahead of you at this point you’re becoming a speck in the rear view mirror. A distant, unpleasant memory.

But it is a sad state of affairs when Hillary Clinton, who is leading in the Democratic Primaries, has more a pair on her than Donald Trump. And that’s the reality.

It makes him appear that he is afraid to debate whether he is or not.

Seriously? That’s some magical thinking. We still have the details of the Cruz sex scandal waiting to come out. That’s when it gets fun watching him squirm.
