Trump, Sanders lead in West Virginia (Trump leads 61% to 22% for Cruz)

PPP's new West Virginia poll finds it's likely to just keep Donald Trump's recent streak of dominant victories right on going. Trump leads in the state with 61% to 22% for Ted Cruz and 14% for John Kasich. Trump, with a 67/24 favorability rating, is the only candidate GOP voters in the state even like. Both Kasich (32/50) and Cruz (32/53) come in with negative favorability ratings.

Adding Carly Fiorina to the ticket has done little to help Cruz. Only 12% of voters say picking her as his running mate makes them more likely to vote for Cruz, compared to 31% who say it makes them less likely to vote for Cruz and 54% who say they just don't care one way or another. Fiorina's 40/32 favorability rating with Republican primary voters does at least make her more popular than Cruz himself.

Trump is winning every subgroup of the Republican electorate, but a few things stand out. He's getting 70% among the independents planning to vote in the GOP primary, to 20% for Cruz and just 9% for Kasich. Trump also has by far and away the most committed support- 87% of his voters say they will definitely cast their ballots for him next Tuesday, compared to only 67% of Cruz's voters and 45% of Kasich's voters who say the same about their candidates. The race is tighter among 'very conservative' voters, with Trump getting 51% to Cruz's 38% but among both moderates and 'somewhat conservative' voters, Trump's advantage is up over 50 points.

“61% pfft. If Trump was a real canidate he’d get 80! Trump must quit the race if he doesn’t get 80%!”

EXACTLY. The Trumpbots won’t admit it, but a Republican candidate that is losing 39% OF THE REPUBLICAN Vote doesn’t have a prayer to making it do the tope job.

You putting words in Trump’s mouth? When did Trump say Cruz’s Dad plotted to kill Kennedy?

Hannity was just saying that a campaign’s (not Trump’s) internal polling has Trump up by double digits in NE.

Doesn't sound like Cruz is going to get any WV delegates next week!

The problem with West Virginia is their messed up delegate selection method. You have to vote for the at-large delegates directly (and there are 22 you have to select). I think there are like 300 delegates to choose or something. Then I also believe you separately have to choose your local CD delegates. It's going to take good organization from Manafort to get Trump all the delegates. The only 3 delegates to go by popular vote is the RNC 3. And we all know complicated ballots favor the GOP-e

you obviously bought into a lie as that is not what Trump said. I suggest you watch what Trump said , instead of what cruz is accusing.

You will end up getting what you purist(s) always get.

Nothing.

Enjoy.

We all ended up with nothing: 0. Unless you live in an alternate USA where President Romney is finishing his first term or President McCain his second term.

So you see, your kiss-off attitude towards those FR posters not drawn to vote Republican as a matter of course doesn't help the cause of the Republican Party's candidates. Try drawing more FReepers to your point of view, if it is a valid POV, and see if the results are any better this time than in '08 and '12. Just a FRiendly suggestion.

Well, Hillary did promise to destroy coal miners and their employers. That’s probably not worth a whole lot outside of the coal fields.

I think Cruz will surprise us tonight and suspend.

I think Cruz will surprise us tonight and show in in something other than a leather straitjacket. ;)

I heard the tape (no video) and I know what he implied. Honestly I don’t have to prove anything to you or all the Trump supporters because nothing will ever change your mind. Trump is off his rocker. Way to Unite the party...

Something is not right with Cruz. Normally people will suspend after a big lost, but not Cruz. He still think he could get it at Cleveland and that somehow Trump supporters will vote for him in the General after he steals it

If I get your drift, then remember King David as a youth with a slingshot and a pebble.

But, what do you mean by "Avalanche"?

Lolz from the Democrat side of things.....

"The 18% of voters who are undecided is unusually high and speaks to the number of registered Democrats in West Virginia who don't really identify with the national party at this point. Among the undecideds Sanders has a 15/77 favorability rating and Clinton's even worse off at 12/84 so there may end up being a decent mass of voters who just don't vote for either of the candidates.

Remember, West Virginia almost voted for an inmate over Obama last cycle in the primary.

The remaining states are all primary election states. Trump wins these elections, and therefore Trump should to run the table.

Dig up Saddam Hussein to run him. He always won his elections with 100% of the electorate.
