Newt Gingrich Makes Announcement That Many Have Been Awaiting
Western Journalism ^ | July 6, 2016 | Kevin Whitson

After months of speculation, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has just confirmed he is being vetted to be Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s vice president...

Hannity led with a brief discussion of a Drudge Report poll indicating the American people most wanted Gingrich to be selected as the vice president...

Hannity then directed a more pointed question at the former House speaker: “Are you being vetted?”

“I think they’ve been very clear all along that I’m one of the four or five people that they’re vetting,” Gingrich said.

“When do you think that decision will be made?

My guess is that they’ll do it either Thursday or Friday [before the GOP convention] so that it dominates the weekend news going into the convention.”

While true that he has a bit of old baggage, that is not as important after the past administrations as formerly.

It might be the right time for him to get back in the game

Certainly he is among the most brilliant, well-versed, and experienced pols ever to set foot in Washington.

Most important of all: He might be just the guy with whom to counter arguments that The Donald doesn’t know his way around the political labyrinth of D.C.

Name a conservative Republican that hasn't been "negatively defined."

'Cause I can't think of one.

Could do a lot worse, my short list of better would be Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin. Otherwise, go with the Newt. Who is Chillary’s running mate, Pocahoaxus?

I think you should all grow a pair. The men at least. Gingrich as former Speaker is a political heavyweight.

We will see.

Gingrich brought us NAFTA. He’s a globalist.

People should read Gingrich’s preface to Toffler’s “Third Wave” - FIRST edition - where he calls for the abolition of nations and the creation of a new civilization. He does this while invoking the “revolutionary spirit” of the founders.

Newt is indeed the best possible choice.

Newt has been in politics a long time and so has acquired a long record of both accomplishments (delivering on some of his Contract with America promises) and shortfallings (did he treat his wife well when she was terminally ill?)

He does know Congress and how it works.
He is a well-educated person concerning American history and political science.
He can debate quite well, too.

All in all, Newt would add a lot to the ticket and I would support Mr. Trump’s decision if he selects Newt.
IMHO.
worth what you paid for it, ha!

I'm not exactly vetting my pants with joy. But I'm voting for Donald Trump for President.

You make me laugh, because the VP is almost worthless no matter who it is. Doesn’t usually affect the vote and matters not one bit in office, unless the president passes away. In that case Gingrich is ready to govern.

Newt bashers will be silent if and when he is announced as VP on FR.

We will all support whoever Trump chooses, but many of us are hoping for Newt.

We LOVE a TRUMP / NEWT team!

Oh no....I Like Newtie, but he has had 3 wives.

#######################################################

Don’t take me wrong because I’m pro Trump as anybody here but he’s the main guy here and he’s had a few wives himself.

It’s OK for Trump but not Newt? I vote for Trump, no matter who he chooses to be his V.P.

I find G to be hard to listen to. Not a good choice as we need a consummate communicator. His voice lacks passion for one thing and he sounds kind of like a boring intellectual.

It's not a crime to have more than one wife...as long as it is one at a time. See RR bio.

It is a crime to molest a woman and lie under oath. Bubba...pick up the phone.
