The deceased suspect has been identified as Gavin Eugene Long of Kansas City, Missouri:

It makes sense to me that the black racists will kill black police officers. The Dallas shooter was so racist, he was aiming for white police only. But at the end of the day, ALL police are blue, and according to the black racists, they all deserve to die.
So no, it makes perfect sense this black racist assassin with Muslim leanings would kill any police he came upon, not just white police.

Seems to me a lot of people who hate this country are infiltrating our military precisely for the purpose of learning the art of war, military strategy and tactics, etc., in order to use those skills against us.

NO, there is no justification to stop a peaceful transfer of authority from Obama to Trump. This is the difference between America and true banana republics. We have an order of succession right down to beyond the Speaker of the house. There is never a justification for a former politician to extend power over his duly elected successor.
The Congress would have him for lunch if he even attempted a power grab like that. Even the media could not come out and support it without a massive push back from the masses of people.

Bingo. Black Lives Matter would like to see all cops killed, they just especially hate white cops. But they would like to see all black, hispanic and asian cops killed too. They hate them all.
All by himself. Notice how the two arrested at the Walmart, that had entered the store wearing all black outfits and exited wearing nondescript clothes, has dropped from the news. Initial reports indicated that their car (Texas plates) had been impounded and that the two had been spotted and called in to police as suspicious. No mention by the media after the initial report.
Note that something similar happened in Dallas with three arrested after initial reports of multiple shooters. No mention by the media after the initial report.
In each case, DHS and FBI were on the scene and the “lone shooter” and “not a terrorist act” memes were immediately put in place.
Any officer that comes upon such a racist in the middle of his shooting rampage is likely to be a target.

You might be reading too much into the perp’s shooting of the black officer. If he was at 20-30 yards distance, or in early morning light, or if the officer was between the perp and the early morning sun, or mist and rain obscured his vision, he may not have even been able to distinguish white from black officers. The officers were all in dark uniforms with only face below their cap and hands visible.

Yep. One had the discipline to target whites especially, but most of these evil thugs just see “blue” and shoot to kill. Most of them are not going to waste a target of opportunity waiting to see is his skin is white or not. Nope. The are going to shoot at anything blue.
What we are seeing is the effect of today's social pathologies on the military. Barely one-quarter of young Americans in the prime recruiting cohort (18-25 year olds) qualify for service in the armed forces and many of them barely make it in. It will be interesting to learn if Long had a checkered military career, along the lines of Micah Johnson. When I heard that Johnson only made E-3 during six years of service in the Army Reserve, I knew he had some sort of disciplinary action in his personnel file. And sure enough, we learn that Johnson was sent home from a deployment to Afghanistan because he sexually harassed a female soldier in his unit. So far, the Army hasn't disclosed what penalty he received, but it's a good bet that Johnson received a Letter of Reprimand (at a minimum) and more likely, an Article 15, ending his chances for re-enlistment and promotion. Predictably, members of his family have suggested that his military experience were a factor in his rampage, which is pure garbage. Johnson was a masonry specialist/combat engineer and never served anywhere near the front lines. I'll crawl out on a limb and predict that Johnson had his own problems in the Marine Corps and came out blaming whitey for issues of his own making. If he entered the Corps around the time of the Iraq surge (or shortly thereafter), Long came in during a period when standards had been relaxed, to ensure recruiting quotas were met. Then, when he leaves the Corps (probably under a cloud), Long falls in with Calypso Louie and his racists. Of course, the media and the White House will go to great lengths to conceal that connection.
