Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump in a surprising new poll of Georgia, edging the Republican nominee 44% to 40% among registered voters in the deep red state.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution poll, released Friday, showed Clinton with a 4-point lead over Trump, excluding third-party candidates. The Democratic nominee retains an advantage, 41% to 38%, with Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein included in the survey. Johnson pulls 11% support, while Stein garners 2%.

IF, during World War II, some innocent American in say, Hawaii, picked up a broadcast of music, entertainment and commentary being provided by Tokyo Rose in Japan, and thought they would record it and RE-broadcast it for those U.S. soldiers and sailors who didn’t hear it the first time, would that be HELPING or HURTING the war effort?

The fellows in the Pacific theater listened to Tokyo Rose because she played all the latest hit records for them. As for her "commentary", they all knew that it was disinformation meant to demoralize. Ergo, it didn't.

Same here.

Trump is in a slump due to recent unfavorable press coverage of his statements; poll is real and momentum driven.

1) I am voting for Trump this November. However, we must be realistic. BEHOLD THE POWER OF THE AMERICAN MEDIA:

2) Trump is being destroyed. No man can withstand what they are doing to him 24/7.

3) By September 1, 2016 people will be ashamed to utter his name.

4) By October 1, 2016 Trump himself will endorse Hillary for President and actively campaign for her himself.

5) On November 1, 2016 all of Trump's children will appear at Hillary's campaign headquarters and formally deny Trump is their father. They will surround Hillary with pats, stroking's and obvious signs of love raising her hands in victory.

7) On November 4, 2016 Hillary will win 99.5% of the popular vote.

8). If those who head the American media wish it Trump will hurl himself from Trump Towers to the pavement below. The identity of the person throwing himself from the Towers will not be reported by name.

James Carville says he does not believe the Democrat spike either. He says that some Democrat pollsters are throwing out their results as they are over polling Democrats. It seems like Republicans are hanging up the phones instead of answering them due to Trumps bad week. There is still much hope.

” With the technology we have today, doesn’t anyone ever ask why some polls don’t survey tens or even hundreds of thousands of eligible voters? Why such a scant few?”

Because it would cost a great deal more to sample thousands and yet the predictive accuracy would improve by only a very small amount.

It would benefit you greatly to read a college textbook on statistical sampling and inference.

Well in other news as a few minutes ago, Trump went up again in another leftist biased pollster ...in spite of it: Roooter/Ipsos poll.

Fox simply refuses to release their background data.

At least the AJC let us see, even though they cooked the books. They’ll probably stop letting us see.

If the sampling model is sound, you can have a sample size of 847 and accurately represent with a 3.5 margin of error the views of ten million people or a billion people.

That 847 if the sampling is correct, is more than enough to reflect the population of Georgia.

The Atlanta Urinal and Constipation.
I wouldn’t even wrap a fish in that rag.

I’m always reminded of the portrait of Lester Maddox
in which you can see a copy of the AJC wrapped around
a fish, laying on the end table.

Curtail your “wild optimism” (/sarc)

No doubt Hillary, the Dems and the MSM wish the scenario you painted would become reality, but that doesn’t make it so.

Trump is a fighter, he is in this to win it. His supporters are enthusiastic, they just have to keep it up through all the MSM lies trying to discourage them.

Then, we will have President Trump who will indeed “make America great again” for all of us.

“The purpose of all this is to discourage Trump voters from voting, to make them think that it’s already all over, Hillary will win and there is no point in bothering to vote.”

That may partially be the purpose, but I think the media will present polls like this all the way up until the election specifically in an attempt to make a Hillary win seem more plausible. If the polls show her trailing Trump and then she wins, a rigged election becomes obvious.

I believe that Trump believes that there is approximately 15% of the public that votes that doesn't really care about the issues, they basically vote for who they like (W) or who they think is cool (Bill, or Obama).

The 80-85% of the voters that do care are going to vote for the candidate with a D or an R after their name regardless.

It's those last 15% that I think Trump thinks are shallow enough to vote for who entertains them the most. And you can say a lot of things about Trump, but you can't say he boring!

I believe that Trump believes, that in this respect that old adage that all publicity is good publicity can be applied to politics.

I don’t know about the percentages, but I can tell you as a matter of fact ...talking to people who do in fact know...that you are 100% correct on this concept.

He absolutely believes that the “entertainment vote” will go to him. He has good reason to believe that. It will.

Will it be enough? Now THAT is the question. If he is right that the “entertainment vote” is 15%....then....ain’t no way he an lose.

Your premise, however, is correct. (And incidentally, I think its explicit use in a presidential campaign is unprecedented).

I’ve driven all over middle GA over the past two weeks from the ocean to Alabama. I have not seen one, single Hillary sign. Just Trump and Sanders. And even that is 20:1 Trump signs.
