Awash in Vanities, Allow One More?

Everyone has their proposed Trump agenda, what he should do, and how he should operate in the first months of his administration.

I have submitted a short blueprint (actually, a WEEK ago) to Team Trump called "After We Win." No, I won't tell you what's in it, but first and foremost it is aimed at solidifying a Trump administration against any sneaky, backstabbing RINO attempts to unseat him. Honestly, I think the nature of the victory---specifically Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, and VERY nearly Minnesota---will greatly dampen these efforts, but we still need to be vigilant. In particular we need to keep an eye on Ryan.

That said, there are two major "outreaches" (and I mean real, not just token) that should be undertaken that, when done with sound conservative policies and a celebration of the individual, will restore a genuine Republican party as "the" party of the next 30 years.

First, we need to reach out to Democrats such as Jim Webb and Joe Manchin. These are blue collar types who in a previous era would have been poster boys for the Dem Party. They have no place in the party today. It is people like them who should comprise the "left wing" of the Republican party. We share many things with them, and with some Democrats---as is obvious from all the "former" Democrats who elected Trump in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. These voters need to be a permanent part, made so by our TRADE POLICIES, ECONOMIC POLICIES, and NATIONAL SECURITY POLICIES.

Second, Trump has proven by winning up to 14% of the black vote that we are on the cusp of a real racial realignment. There are millions of urban blacks afraid to walk their streets, and you cannot tell me that Jesse Jackson speaks for them. They need an excuse to vote for Trump. Many of them did. To get the rest, SECURE THE STREETS. ENFORCE THE LAW.

Ronald Reagan, unfortunately, blew this. In 1980 he had 14% of the black vote---an all-time post-Hoover high. But in 2004, he only got 10%. Part of that was that the economy, while it improved for most, did not improve at the same pace for blacks as for whites. More, however, was that RR's "outreach" efforts pretty much disappeared after 1981. You'll have to trust me on this one---it's part of my new Reagan biography, but his internal priorities shifted and did not follow through.

Trump can. With people such as Pastor Darryl Scott and Diamond and Silk, Trump can indeed build a genuine "outreach" of substance, not handouts, starting with securing the streets.

A vast body of blue-collar former Democrats helped elect Trump, as well as that huge army of "Deplorable" conservatives. This union must be forged. The groups were only kept apart by propagandists on the left and open-borders/internationalists on the right. Trump can beat them both.

Every pol and pundit regardless of party affiliation should be able to pass the Joe the Plumber/Veteran/Evangelical litmus test. All others need not apply and be run out of town.

Transorm D.C. into a blue collar, equalitarian zone.

Drain the Swamp.

Solid advice.

The Republicans need to build a new, permanent coalition. We have young people in the party who can be the future of what Trump builds. I’m not always thrilled with Paul Ryan or Ted Cruz but they are young enough to still be influential 20 years from now. Grab today’s opportunity and give them something to work with. If not Ryan and Cruz, there are others who are young, energetic and smart enough.

Who do the Democrats have? Joe Biden? Hillary? Al Franken? They have no future at all. We can totally eat their lunch if we follow the good advice laid out here.

First, we need to reach out to Democrats such as Jim Webb and Joe Manchin.

This was one thing that Reagan did right.

Even though both the House and Senate were controlled by Democrats, he built a coalition with the "Blue Dogs", the conservative Democrats that still existed. There aren't many left, due to the purges by the Democrat party and the party switching to the Republicans. But, I think there are some.

Trump has to give them some cover by offering something they want. And Republicans have to be willing to compromise on those points to get the rest of what they want.

I'm not sure how you reach out to the black community without looking like you are pandering, or just becoming Democrat-lite. Bush did this to seniors (Medicare part D), and just made the budget problem worse.

I think that school choice would be a huge win, as it's very popular in the black community (who have to live with sub-standard schools). But, I don't know how you can impose that from the federal government.

Cracking down on black-on-black crime sounds good, until you realize it will result in a lot more black men in prison, raising questions of whether it is "fair". The war on "crack" had this effect, resulting in more and and longer incarcerations for black men, compared to equivalent cocaine offenses committed by white and Hispanics.

Or—God forbid, Priebus (or RINO Christie) as chief of staff.

Rudy must be AG.

Newt (or even Palin) maybe head of OMB and general advisor—costs gotta be slashed.

Bingo. End crime, school choice, and GO THERE. You have to show up. Not avoid trips to these churches and neighborhoods.

I agree with you:

On Ryan — he’s a snake.

On Manchin — He just might turn Republican if approached correctly. And he sure doesn’t fit West Virginia right now.

On Blacks — In my heart, I believe that the Republican Party is the true home of blacks. I want us truly to jump into those families destroyed by the democrat welfare state and get black families on their feet.

Good article, LS.

Another IMPORTANT TO DO is to have Trump team contact me regarding Grand Jury restart in Utah to go after Harry Reid for multiple counts of bribery. This was blocked by DOJ and FBI.

The reason this is uber important is Reid is not going away. He will run corrupt Senate Majority PAC after leaving senate. Also links to Podesta through Clean Energy Project, a massive alternative energy scam.

Trust me LS, this is big stuff, mafia and RICO level. Big source of Dem corruption going forward. Need to make sure Reid indicted to prevent sabotage. I am directly linked to investigation.

I think there are a huge majority of blacks who do not understand how corrosive and destructive the policies of the liberal left are to their segment of society.

I blame that on liberals and the media, and some small portion of blame goes to the Republican party for not explaining it in a way that they can understand. To clarify, it doesn’t mean it has to be dumbed down, that isn’t what I am saying. But it it can’t be explained by “Liberal policies are bad”.

Is there any way that the original square (diamond) layout of D.C. could be restored after the Civil War change? That would help Republicans in VA . . .

The alternative would have to be to so decimate federal employment as to turn VA bedroom communities associated with DC into ghost towns . . .

Many African-Americans look back fondly on the Reagan years. There were a good number of Blacks who turned out for Reagan’s funeral observances/processions.

Trump’s basic appeal was make America Great Again ... NOT make ‘republicans or conservatives’ great again... And thus you are right on... and I pray you were heard.
