” No man is ever that out of control. “
Perhaps you need to expand your thoughts, because what you wrote seems to indicate that you don’t understand human nature.
IOW - you haven’t been conned into believing that mankind is essentially GOOD - have you?
You think men get so worked up they HAVE to get release? You cannot be serious.
Life is hard.
It’s harder when you are stupid.
For some reason I find those hotter than the lead character
Mary Tyler Moore < Valerie Harper < Julie Kavner
Suzanne Somers < Joyce Dewitt
Sarah Michelle Gellar < Alyson Hannigan
WB Blossom.
When her character first showed up on BBT, I thought she ruined the show. Now she is my favorite character. If they ever got rid of her I would stop watching.
>> no one is looking to jump into bed with her.
I doubt that is true. In the first place, she may not be a Victoria’s Secret model, but she is not bad looking, and what’s more, she looks approachable, not like the kind of woman who would bite your head off for daring to talk to her.
In the second place, ask almost any “homely” or “average” woman if she has been propositioned. They will almost all say yes. Maybe not as often as the “hot” women, but all women get hit on.
And one more thing: Hooray for someone with brains! What a refreshing change from the usual vapid output from Hollywood!
Nyet.
Either you’re extremely naive, or we are talking about different subjects.
Do you think rape is about the need to “get release”? If so, how does that explain rapists who rape the same victim multiple times.
No, rapists RAPE because they want to, and then plan for it when they think they can get away with it.
And women who dress scantily, hit the party scene, and act like tramps are behaving UNWISELY, because they set themselves up to be victims of abuse - which I believe is the point Ms. Bialik is trying to make.
Thanks drewh.
Actress Mayim Bialik... wrote a New York Times essay over the Harvey Weinstein scandal... when she returned to acting after earning a doctorate in neuroscience, she "experienced the upside of not being a 'perfect 10.' Those of us in Hollywood who don't represent an impossible standard of beauty have the 'luxury' of being overlooked and, in many cases, ignored by men in power unless we can make them money." ...has been open about her embrace of Orthodox Judaism, explained that in order to protect herself, she has chosen to dress modestly and avoid flirting with men. "In a perfect world, women should be free to act however they want," she wrote. "But our world isn't perfect. Nothing -- absolutely nothing -- excuses men for assaulting or abusing women. But we can't be naive about the culture we live in."She is still a Partisan Media Shill, but that is spot on.
I actually find her to be extremely attractive, much more so than the other women on that show. But then, I have a crush on Sarah Huckabee Sanders and the gal who plays Garcia on Criminal Minds.
What a perv! Oh, sorry. ;’) On BBT she appears to be deliberately made to look more homely, but apart from that, she ain’t comely. Maybe it’s my age, or my disgust (and jealousy, face facts ‘Civ) at the ridiculous money they pull down on hit shows, along with realization that they’re all pathologically self-centered freaks, but I don’t find any actresses particularly attractive, at all, any more.
I don’t think she’s in much danger from predators
Sorry

You are not getting what I was saying at all. You suggest (correctly) that these episodes are more about power and control. We agree on that.
But then you suggest that the way these women dress has ANYTHING to do with what happened to them. I think the two arguments are in conflict.
What I think we can agree on is that this guy was a predator. What I cannot understand is how these young ladies could not see what was coming at them.
We arrive at the same place in the end.
A lot of it goes back to the civil rights movement. Much in the same way that support for the dems in the northeast and midwest among blue collar white males went back to the labor movement (unions). Which means that there is hope that the demographic group can become ‘woke’ to who is actually in their corner and who is not...

Ehhhh...
Too bad the LA basin is such a terrible combination of no-go zones and freak shows, with everything under a veneer of so-called victimless crimes, because, other than the smog on occasion, the weather’s pretty nice most of the time, y’know, if you like the intermittent heat waves that probably inspired “The Towering Inferno”. ;^)
