That’s what I thought you meant. You and I are in the same boat pretty much with the exception of the wife. Mine still watches Lifetime and E! garbage.

I’m also into Spaghetti Western’s and Errol Flynn movies lately.

They are just hoping to replace ESPN with combined contracts with Yahoo/Amazon/Apple/Google and whoever else will buy it. Those companies have some serious change to throw around and would be more than happy to continue turning the NFL into a social experiment.

I loved My Name Is Nobody, They Call Me Trinity, & Trinity Is Still My Name. Errol Flynn Swashbucklers are always fun to watch. I also like the old murder mysteries such as The Thin Man Series. The Topper Movies were also fun. I probably have 4,000 DVD’s to chose from too, some new but lots of olldies. All of Bob Hope’s old movies.

I have to say, I like about half of the Amazon created content on Prime. The other half, I don’t...just SJW stuff.

Some years ago, ESPN cut out the NHL because they found out college softball got as many viewers as pro hockey.

Football is a loss leader for the networks, period. They pay top dollar to then live by teams being able to sell out by Thursday nights to see if they can televise the game on Sunday. Why do you think that LA has 2 teams now? It’s the TV revenue and if then the networks can’t show the game. Then think about how bad of business men these dumbasses are, especially Spanos. He paid 650 Million US dollars to move this team to LA and can’t even sell out a 30,000 seat venue. He could have spent that 650 million on a stadium in San Diego.

If you had seriously told me this summer that this would happen before Christmas 2017, I would’ve driven you to the hospital myself to have you checked out and drug tested.

And I hope the sponsors that aren’t getting out lose their butts on ad revenue.

NFL has a ton of problems and the protests are just the straw that broke the camel’s back.

The product is just not that good.

You're right. The article "How Football Stopped Being Fun" is spot-on and has nothing to do with protests or PC garbage. Kevin Clark nailed it. The way the game is played itself these days is wearing thin, showing all kinds of problems, and is becoming less watchable all the time.

Yep. I was lamenting early in the season that boycotts never work. They usually don’t. Why is this one different? Because the protests hit such an ugly note in a personal way that the average working Joe can’t ignore it anymore. This time it’s not just Matt Damon shrugging off criticism of something stupid he said with “You’re all just jealous” or George Clooney saying that people are too lazy to do something about global warming. Congrats, the left finally found something that hits people in a deeply personal way and they did it so ugly that even the non-football watchers are pissed. When you do that, watch out.

I’d love to see the ads for the NFL on the WB. “Stay tuned, Cowboys vs. Redskins immediately following Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Charmed depending on your viewing area...”

“Does that portend a reduction in the monthly service charges for the retail cable customer?”

No!

However, Freepers can cut their cable and use Sling Blue as their tv streamer.

Sling Blue does not carry ESPN, Disney nor ABC. So these haters of America don’t get their monthly cut from our tv bill.

WE owe it ALL to Donald J. Trump! He’s thrown bombs in all the RAT “outhouses” and it’s raining $hit and boards on all of them! Reagan was a great man and President, but he never got his game out of first gear by comparison to Trump. Instead of working on one of two major problems, Trump is working on virtually all of them. God Bless and Protect him.

wow

That's carried on my FIOS. It's an infomercial network. Too bad Billy Mayes won't be around to do the play by play. I vote for the underwater tape guy or the Mypillow guy.

I think part of the mass media problem is that there are really two main types of people in the world—those that work and create things and those that talk talk talk.

The working people tend to be down to earth, realistic, and conservative in their values.

The talkers—well, we know what they are, liars mostly—and they include almost all the sociopaths on the planet.

The talkers drift towards politics, the media, academia where they can peddle their lies.
