ABC News has announced that Brian Ross would be suspended for four weeks without pay “effective immediately.”
“It is vital we get the story right and retain the trust we have built with our audience – these are our core principles. We fell far short of that yesterday,” the network said in a statement on Saturday. “Effective immediately, Brian Ross will be suspended for four weeks without pay.”
Ross came under considerable fire on Friday after he erroneously reported on live television that then-candidate Donald Trump had instructed Michael Flynn to make contact with the Russians.

The younger ones aren’t any better.
I've been reading about people losing money on the stock market because of all this, on social medias. The latest they're talking about is civil lawsuits against ABC and their parent company Disney. Not sure if anything would come of it but it was journalism malpractice if we've ever seen it. No wonder they suspended Brian Ross because the nightmare aftermath may have just started.

Ross has been in the business a long time. He visited the newsroom I was working in 30 years ago investigating drug trafficking.
Low flying planes seemed to be coming in the area at night.
I don’t remember the “investigation” amounting to a hill of beans.

I was watching CNBC right after Ross report...They were saying they were not reporting it, just that they were??? And Ross is a credible journalist, but they wanted further confirmation...Said this and markets were tanking...

It’s like they’re experiencing inverted Birtherism. Inverted in that this time the conspiracy is in the so called mainstream news.

Not true. The market was up just a few points until Brian made his breathless announcement. It immediately started tanking after his report. It only recovered (some) later in the day as the actual facts regarding Flynn’s arrest were reported accurately by other outlets. I know I was watching the market all day.
Did Ross or any of the top ABC thugs short the market before
Ross went beyond fake news and lied to Americans.
Those of us with 401ks and Iras which got hammered due to his lies.
Seems like a good class action suit by some conservative lawyers.
Remember ABC is owned by Disney and so is ESPN another hate America group of thugs.
I’m sure that “4 weeks” loss of pay will put a serious dent in the 20 million annual salary his “contract” likely brings into his bank account.
And what I meant is the “slap on the hand” suspension, has implications far beyond Ross’s time off.

I’m sitting right next to a relative who makes his daily living trading in the market.
