...It turns out the Senate Judiciary Committee also has a memo on Christopher Steele, the FBI and Russia dossier they are working to declassify. Their memo is set to be released including FBI redactions shortly....

Paul Sperry of the New York Post reported, “BREAKING: The Senate Judiciary Committee also has a memo on Steele, the dossier and the FBI, and is working to get it declassified.”

[....]

As previously reported, GOP Lawmakers are seeking to make the case that the Mueller investigation and the FBI probe into Trump’s campaign was based on potentially tainted and flawed evidence connected to Hillary Clinton, says John Solomon of The Hill.

Solomon’s report revealed part of the investigation includes an eight page criminal referral filed with the DOJ by Grassley and Graham:

...While the FBI has been protesting the release of the Nunes memo, it has been working behind the scenes to vet a version of the Grassley-Graham memo, which is expected to be released in redacted form soon....

On January 5th, Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) sent a letter to Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding they investigate if Christopher Steele lied to federal authorities.

Lets not forget McCain hand delivered this Dossier to Comey and admitted it......

“Late last year, I received sensitive information (Dossier) that has since been made public, Upon examination of the contents, and unable to make a judgement about their accuracy, I DELIVERED the information to the Director of the FBI."

..please demonstrate why this is not a perfect explanation ..

Because President Trump chose him for the post, and for the moment that's a 'perfect' enough explanation for me until DJT says otherwise.

“there was nothing in the House memo that endangered national security”

Reconsider.

To denizens of the swamp, McCain included, the loss of institutional confidence in the FBI and DOJ that these memos will and are causing, is an existential threat to the US Government.

This is the stuff of insurrection and revolution. And the impact should not be underestimated.

I think you’re correct, I’ve been thinking the same. You’d need to be a really naive person to not consider the origin could be the opposing party. It’s just too dumb.

“McCain...detrimental? Remember, he sent a minion to England to retrieve and hand carry the dossier back to the FBI. He’s definitely in ESAD territory here, all because of hid Trump grudge.”

McCain is in this mess all the way up to his supposed brain tumor. Wonder if he is just laying low?

By whom?

By Grassley who first announced the second memo and his intention to publish it, which only CTH apparently read, but which we are only discovering today on FR in this article.

"“I wonder who put the judge in that position?”

Maybe it’s indicative of the FISA court simply being a rubber stamp."

Let me guess, it's the same FISA judge that approved the Page warrants?

I think it’s more complicated than just falling for fake news.

It’s understandable that recent history would cause some people to think that nothing will ever change, that everyone in politics and government is dirty, and that our systems will never be as relatively honest and straightforward as we think they were in past times. And it may give some a sense of self-validation to express that negativity.

They forget that everything begins in thought, and that what you expect from profound conviction is usually what you get. It’s very easy to be a pessimist; and much more difficult to be optimistic - even though optimism is the smarter way to go.

You’ve got nothing to lose, by being optimistic, while pessimism just makes you miserable. But if you’re stuck in negativity - and since ‘misery likes company’ - you’ve probably got a motive to spread the depression around.

Human Nature 101 (excepting possible disruptors...:-)

Maybe it’s indicative of the FISA court simply being a rubber stamp.

Which is every bit as scandalous as the rest of what's come out.

I think the point is it doesn’t much matter what the Judges politics are, the chances of denial is like .003%.

I’m convinced 90% of classification is to cover up government screw-ups and abuses.

The Memos Production and the counter Memo production is going to turn into a cartoon of confusion before long.

People are already lost in a maze trying to follow all of the bouncing balls for the chronology of investigations and the names of all the characters bouncing each ball.

Carter Page, we are told had been warned and watched by the FBI since 2013, according to CNN, so when he was still traveling to Russia on business, at the same time he was used as an occasional foreign adviser to the Trump Campaign, they in the FBI were only too anxious to surveil him.

So.. one example of many hundreds of counter arguments to come is the job of Republicans to counter. Can they do it?

With the Memo out, it makes crystal clear that Demorat leaders Schiff,Pelosi,Schlmur blatantly lied about natl. security risks and methods by it’s release...it was all a bluff and obstruction in order to save their own butts!

Very true.
I read that Justice Roberts as head of the SC appoints the FISA judges.
Maybe I’m wrong.

“...The judge...”

Exactly!! I have been pointing this out to my husband ... something does not pass the smell test as far as this FISA court judge who must have been suspicious and granted the spy warrant anyway.
