There is no way Trump can be allowed to set foot in North Korea. It’s not even worth thinking about.

Think of all the recon our team could do while there with him.

Easy. Counter with a Mar-a-lago visit. That big building you have been building forever needs some Trump... Why don’t we call Un-Trump Peace tower.

That implies it's all a joke and everything fails right?

I guess it could be read that way. Not that I much care if it is read that way or not. There's only one real exit strategy in North Korea, that's us walking away. The fantasy exit strategies involve the Kim family enjoying villas on the French Rivera and somehow the nation they've been holding hostage gaining freedom. Who knows; that could happen.

After all, the wall fell in Berlin in days because of a simple misstatement. The dominoes fell and most of Eastern Europe gained their freedom and the USSR dissolved. Of course, a good part of that was Reagan pushing, creating the environment where freedom could come.

That we're doing the heavy lifting once again is hardly surprising. Were it up to the rest of the world, they'd simply sell Kim even more weapons and tools of mass destruction and count all the money they collected and deposited in their banks.

Showboat peace talks, at the end of the day, are there simply to re-open the spigots of weapons that will eventually mean more deaths of our youth. Hopefully Trump shocks the world and instead of focusing on denuclearization, he takes an even harder line towards ripping down the DMZ. I'd be satisfied if he can at least walk away with a declaration of peace.

As you point out, Kim Jong Un can get a free pass on responsibility, if he comes clean with the abductees, or their bodies, as soon as he comes out of his shell. Everyone knows it wasn’t his fault, that they were taken. If he hangs on to them though, he owns it. You only get one chance, to make a first impression.

What could he do better to pump up his positives with the Japanese people, than be the savior who frees those long suffering lost children? So they arguably have more value to release than hold (as long as the story they would tell is not too bad against Kim himself). Even if they have a general horror story to tell, that should raise Kim’s status even more, for having saved them from even worse situations.

Japan can bring world class technology and industry to bear for the North, and actually has a pretty large North Korean expatriate community, many of whom have kept their Korean citizenship into the families third generation in Japan. One woman I know was raised in Japan (as were her parents), but her grandparents insisted that she attend University in Korea, in Korean.

There are hundreds of thousands of more recent South Koreans living in Japan, who are fluently bi-lingual. Start up could be quick with that human capital pool to recruit from.

After their summit in Singapore, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and United States President Donald Trump could meet again as soon as July, this time in Pyongyang.

"Okay, but only after the radioactivity from our bombing Pyongyang as leveled off to safe levels."

@annafifield on Twitter, Tokyo bureau chief for the WashingtonPost, reports:

A two-page color spread in this morning's Rodong Sinmum: North Korea announces that Kim Jong Un has left for a "historic summit" with the President of the United States.

North Korea's state news agency: The summit is about "establishing new relations" between the U.S. and North Korea, and "building a permanent and durable peace-keeping mechanism on the Korean Peninsula, the issue of realizing the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula". These issues and this summit are "required by the changed era" and the summit is being held "for the first time in history under the great attention and expectation of the whole world." ...So the North Korean population was notified. That shows some commitment on their part.

As if we weren’t wasting enough of Trump’s time with the first meeting.

That implies it's all a joke and everything fails right?

I guess it could be read that way.

You guess right.

Humor aside, I can see it happening someday, after much has been accomplished.

Until then, very safe, third-pary venues are to the benefit of ALL>

I don’t know, personally I wish he didn’t talk this way so often. You know, rise above and all that. The media many times deserves it of course, and celebs. I get why he takes digs at those types but why make an enemy of Dennis Rodman for no reason lol.

I can see right through this little fat sadistic Kim boy.
And I think POTUS is smarter than me. All little fat boy wants
is is to be in the center of the lime light and be recognized
as a world leader. Hopefully POTUS will not allow lil kim to
call any of the shots.

One meeting, and one meeting only.

Everything, all of everything, will get worked out there, or not.
