CNN Interviews Alabama Beachgoers Not Wearing Masks, Gets Owned After Photos Surface of Maskless Reporter(same CNN reporter)
The Spectator ^ | MAY 27, 2020 | COMMENTARY

Another day, another instance of a preachy mainstream media journalist being called out for not practicing what they preach when it comes to mask-wearing.

As if the incident involving the MSNBC reporter being filmed and called out by a random passerby during a live segment on mask-wearing for his cameraman not wearing a mask was not hilarious enough, CNN has been caught in the act as well.

In the clip below, you see CNN reporter Gary Tuchman, a self-styled expert on the Wuhan coronavirus, interviewing beachgoers in Alabama about whether or not they had any concerns about catching the virus because they were around so many other people. During the same segment, the issue of wearing masks came up, and Tuchman – who walked around the beach in a mask as the cameras were rolling – noted he saw a “grand total of zero” people wearing the masks on the beach, and then proceeded to interview people on the matter:

But when the cameras stopped rolling, this is how Tuchman looked:

A FourthWatch reader sent me these images of CNN’s GaryTuchmanCNN filming this report from Alabama yesterday - wearing a mask while walking the beach and interviewing people - but removing his mask when the cameras were off.

Some people have trouble detecting sarcasm. Thankfully my sarcasm detector was working.

I’m envious of you growing up down there with quick access to the beach.

I grew up in Guin, a tiny town in North Alabama, whose claim to fame is the horrific tornado that decimated the town on April 3, 1974. I was only three years old, so I only remember bits and pieces of the tragedy,

I love the Gulf and the White Sand beaches.

“Ain’t No ??? Come on Goober.”

I think if you thought my post was serious you might want to reevaluate who is the real goober.

We were in OBA two weeks ago. It was beginning to get crowded, even then, because Florida hadn’t opened short-term rentals. Mrs. abb wondered where the national news media was, and I told her that OBA/Perdido/Gulf Shores were kind of regional beaches and relatively unknown except to us Southerners. And, they want to keep it that way.

Ain't no damn beaches in OK either....

And we have F-6 tornadoes...every spring. Colder than Bill and Hillary's hearts in the winter's...

And ticks the size of mice...and chiggers..bigger than your fingernail.

You don't ever want to come here.

That’s right folks... NO BEACHES IN ‘BAMA. NONE. It’s just pine trees all the way down to the gulf. No reason to come down here, but I understand there are some really fantastic beaches in New Jersey and New York. Y’all should just stay up that way. Just sayin,’ but there are NO BEACHES IN ‘BAMA!

Except in November. You and I definitely have issues in November. ;)🦅

LOL :-) = So . . . Tubberville? I'm guessing :-) I love the football because it's great for businesses here. (Unfortunately we have a Dem mayor and he has ALL of the downtown streets torn up - you wouldn't believe how bad it has been.)

But I don't cry if we lose to Auburn and it doesn't make my week if we win. :-)

OK. I guess we don’t have issues in November. I was thinking football. We can disagree about Tubbs. I have distinct red flags about him because he does like foreign labor in the US. I also have red flags about Sessions because he did not act like he spoke while in the Senate.

I live in Auburn and businesses are in a big mess here, too. Not only are things not opening well, but because half the economic base is not here, those that are open are hurting.

I enjoyed the mullet toss and live music.
We lived west of Mobile in an unincorporated area near the Mississippi border.

I couldn’t believe the number of people who didn’t get it.

I couldn’t believe the number of people “assuring” us all that there are indeed beaches in Alabama. Even to someone posting a map of so called Alabama beaches.

I, however, having traveled each of the 48 continental states can attest to there being no beaches in Alabama. There are areas where the ocean meets the swamps. Even though these areas are called the Redneck Riviera they are places of which only the most hardy of souls attempt to vacation at.

To even get to the swamps one must first get off the interstate and hazard the back roads populated by feral hogs, plague carrying armadillos, timber rattlers that seek out people to bite and copperheads that lie in wait of the unwary.

Then comes the swamps.
Why the trees literally drip with poisonous reptiles. Reptiles the size and nastiness of which make the most fearless Louisiana bayou dweller stay on the interstate.

Then there are the gators.
There are gators in Louisiana and Texas simply because each year the smaller and less vicious gators flee Alabama for safer destinations. And those Bama Alpha Gators (BAGs) are NEVER not hungry. NEVER.

If someone manages to avoid the plague carrying armadillos, the super aggressive timber rattlers and copperheads, the tree hanging reptiles of unnatural size and nastiness and DOES someway make it to the edge of the ocean they then must contend with bull sharks the like of which exist at no other place on earth. Perpetually pissed off and hungry they make short work out of swimmers and small boats.

But to get to LA (Lower Alabama for yankees) one must first make it through northern Alabama which has dangers of it’s own too numerous to go through here.

People just read the first sentence of my post and figured they had finally found someone stupider than them and had to jump on it. Surely anyone who read the whole post would have been able to figure it out. I hope. I would have thought my screen name might have tipped them off.
