We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.no longer applies to the armed bureaucrats. In reality it's worse than that. It is a "special" crime to kill any government employee. Are they better than the rest of us? According to the law - yes they are! This is very reminiscent of the Fascist laws passed in Italy in the 30's (and still on the books) you can go to jail for arguing with a cop there.

Just what is the purpose of a search warrant if its not to search ? Are search warrants invalid if there was nothing there ?
With your background, if anyone can provide confirming references that Beck was a convicted felon, you can.
You would be doing those of us who have been a little disappointed in the truthfulness of the feds in the past a great service to provide a date of conviction, court, judge, defense attorney, sentence, where the sentence was served, or any other details that would help confirm the felony. If he was a felon, this story ends there. If it can not be established that probable cause existed for a "high risk" search warrant(i.e. he was not a convicted felon), then this will go down in history compared to Ruby Ridge.

The laws allowing enhanced penalties for crimes against law enforcement officials are passed by legislators, whom we elect.
If you don't like the special status, you ought to vote for different legislators.

Why none, of course. As soon as Beck fired the first shot, the ATF got free reign to burn and destroy the entire block - then remove the evidence before independent verification. They need provide no answers to the American public. If the ATF carpet bombed the neighborhood, it would be Beck's fault and we would be conspiracy nuts for questioning their methods. < /exasperation >
This is a joke right? You actually think that my vote (or anyone else's for that matter) makes any difference? A vote is not input on how the government is run. A vote is merely an illusion that you have some control over the behemoth.

According to law enforcement and court records, Beck's first conviction occurred in 1990, for receiving stolen property--a Remington shotgun and a .25-caliber Beretta handgun. He was also convicted of grand theft, firearms violations and fraudulent use of someone else's credit card, on which he had charged more than $1,300. He was sentenced to two years in state prison. In the years that followed, Beck was arrested numerous times: on suspicion of possession of firearms, receiving stolen property, carrying firearms in public, impersonating a police officer and being a felon in possession of an assault weapon. He was again sentenced to prison, this time for four years, records show. In late 1992, Beck was...convicted of first-degree residential burglary with the intent to commit larceny.
