Now That Bush Has Sold Us Out... What are we going to do about it? (vanity)

Posted on 03/13/2002 2:47:41 PM PST by Michael2001

Well I'm mad and I'm angry, and maybe that's why I can't think of an appropriate response. While all of us were prasing him for how he was dealing with the war on terror, Bush passes this Amnesty Bill, something that not even the sneaky Bill Clinton would do. This is one of the worse Bills to pass through Congress, it will hurt us in many ways, and ten years from now we will still be feeling it's effects.

Bush has, without a doubt in my mind, sold us out for the Hispanic vote. He sold us out because he can take our vote for granted (who will we vote for Al Gore?). Is he wrong? What do we do when the Republicans stop looking out for our interests? Is it time for a new party, or do we work within the party and try to root out the Republicans In Name Only (of which there are many)?

. From what I've read over the last 24 hours from level-headed sources, that amounts to about 200,000 people

So Pat was lying tonight on HARDBALL when he said it automatically gave 1,000,000 Mexicans amnesty?

I too sent my RNC Survey back with NO DONATION. In fact, I sent them a copy of todays NY Times article regarding this travesty and told them to REMOVE ME FROM THE RNC database. After 40 years, I am no longer a Republican but will file Independent. Lastly, I sent an email to the RNC detailing my disgust with this sellout of our National Sovereignty. How dare President Bush pander for the Hispanic votes HE WILL NEVER GET!!! What a foolish move. It's as if he's acting like Vincent Fox's lap dog!! What a sad day in our nations history! An to think, 92 REPUBLICANS VOTED FOR THIS! All the BUMS should be THROWN OUT!!!

If George Bush had sex in the Oval Office and then lied about it under oath, would you still support him because he is better than Al Gore?

That's a ridiculous question, because Bush would never do such a thing. Are you equating amnesty for illegal aliens in an attempt to keep the leftist SOB rat party from running away with the mexican-american vote to Klinton's defiling of the Oval Office?

You're comparing apples and oranges.

You may have liked the excitement of the last election, but unless Bush can get the latin vote we may not be in the White House again for a long time.

Pat is given to hyperbole, under the best of circumstances.

He wasn't lying; he was exaggerating.

I tell you what, Bush shouldn't do such a terrible thing like deal with a political reality and actually make the GOP a true majority party.

He should lose in the next election and then we can all sit around and watch while the DEMOCRATS give amnesty to the Mexicans, that ought to make our situation a lot better.

Previously, from Buckaroo: "a government by the people, of the people and for the people."

And now, the conclusion: I wasn't quoting any document. Just putting things into proper perspective.

Well, shucks, that's pretty good stuff. You ought to copyright it. It has a ring to it. Granted it sounds vaguely familiar, but I guess it's original. You aren't channelling Doris Kearns Goodwin are you? Or Mike Barnicle? Or Joe Biden? Certainly not MLK, Jr.

Dear God in Heaven, the blind foolishness I see from so many in this thread. Oh well, the hundreds of thousands of extra Hispanic voters will more than outweigh the ten or so tinfoilers here who are currently swearing never to vote for Bush and/or a single Republican ever again.

Of course, all ten of them will have long since forgotten about this by election day anyway...

245i is the technical name.

The common name is the "Let's-piss-off-Joe-Hadenuf-and-his-fellow-knuckle-draggers" bill.

LMAO if you don't even know the name of the bill you have been lecturing us on, it proves you just want a bit of red meat to chew on.

Why is it OK for everyone except the people who built this country to want their group at the front of the line? Prefering white Europeans is preference. Denying people constitutional rights or calling them inferior (vs different) are discrimination and racism.

Are you a member of the "Two Wrongs Make A Right League"? Sheesh. Expressing preferences for one's own kind is just a polite way of promoting racism. We are all alike in things that are important. Where we differ are in things which are not important.

I'd like to stack the values of any hard-working immigrant family from Mexico against the addictions and moral-confusions of those lazy ideologues and D.U. provocateurs who are belly-aching here.

There is a lot of hysteria surrounding this bill. What I read indicates that an alien, here illegally, may "adjust" his status to that of an alien making application for some other recognized status (other than an "illegal" alien). The bill also seems to allow such applicants to stay in the country until such time as their case can be reviewed and a decision made by the INS.

Since prior to the extension, they were "illegal" and therefore subject to arrest and deportation, this bill would appear to give an "amnesty" of sorts. In any event, it would allow them to stay in our country, and as such "reward" them for violation of the immigration laws. What it really appears to be is a govt protection/extortion rackett.(pay the fee or else)

It's a bad bill and deserves a full heaping of scorn. What it demonstrates (along with other moves he's making)to me is that Bush has principles when it's convienient.

Currently, government estimates about 5M illegal immigrants dwell within America. This atrocious act; this slap in the face of Americans permits all to apply. It is likely that less than 5M will receive legal status. So you folks have a point.

A silly point, at best.

How does bringing in a lot more democrats help that? You can't assume the illegals from Mexico intend to vote like the Cuban Americans. Or like the long time legal Hispanics of the SW.
