The governor's office says the report on the National Guard is wrong. It has not been called up.

The aide I talked to was a Ms. Smart A--. I talked to her for a few minutes and expressed my dismay that her legislature wouldn't listen to the state's people. I had told her where I was calling from and she started dissing our state for it's taxes. I said, yes lady, I know what it's like to live under an oppresive system. So do your citizens and they don't want it. She was flippant and couldn't have cared less.

I once again reminded her that the citizens of her state had made it abundantly clear that they didn't want a state income tax, and asked her what they had to do to get it through the governor's fat head. She made some flippant remark and I said, you know what, I hope your citizens come down there and light a match to the place.

LOL, these folks couldn't give a damn what their constituants want. Ah representative government at it's best.

The phone number for the capital is 615-741-3569. Ask for the governor's office.

I'd advise the dear citizens of Tenessee to call a general strike once it's imposed. I'd keep that sucker on until the state got with the program and recinded it.

Does Gov. Taxquist want to perpetrate a State House Steps Massacre?

Thanks for the update. I was just trying to tune in to Valentine to verify. Although I wouldn't put this passed our "lovely" (sarcasism off) governor and the crooked legislature. They tried something similar last year and we very upset when the press or at least part it warned the public.

We have income taxes here. They go up every year. Get ready.
Vote 3 times? It's like Al gore. Keep counting until they get the numbers they want?

Valentine says we can stand down for now. The Legislature was trying to pass a temporary sales tax increase but failed to get the votes. The Governor's office called to complain that they hope Valentine and his followers "behave" this year.

Keep the powder dry and stay vigilant!

Okay George Bush! Here's your chance to show that you are a real conservative and an opponent of any new taxes.

Immediatley federalize the Tennessee State Guard and order them to remain in their armory until this vote has been taken and recorded!

"Tennessee House Of Representatives suspending the House Rules in anticipation of a vote on the state income tax this evening"

Sounds like taxation without representation to me.

I believe they are working on TAxes though. Don't discount that end of it. That part's for real.

Let it be a warning, keep those camcorders in the car with a full tank, and don't wear out your voice just yet. So Governor Jeffords wants to morph into Governor King George III?

Isn't the military mostly conservative? What happens if the TNG joins the riot?

Are you kidding me?

To complete the thought...he must know how the vote is going to turn out if he has called out the troops to quell riots.

Who would riot if there was a vote for no tax?
