A small price to pay to ensure the re election of "El Jefe" Senor Jorge. Quit whining and do your duty like a good little sheep.

The Clinton years?

Since Eisenhower. Probably the ICBMs made the game seem not worth playing. By '70 fallout shelters were being used for other purposes, emergency stores were going bad. They eventually sold everything to the highest bidder, $3 per pallet, crackers and all. Got a few of the green 17 gallon water/waste cans, they're all rusted to oblivion.

It's called getting re elected. With the economy in the shitter and Bush pushing for open borders something has to be done to keep the sheep occupied elsewhere. Boy have we been had.

There is a better and faster way to do this of course. Give farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners the option of selling emergency shelter contracts. Let OISM write the spec and private services verify preparations.

Government fallout shelters are death traps.

Al Gore and the Enviro-wackos will have hissy fits. They've been trying to cram Americans INTO cities for years.

All you have to do is close the borders and get these Arabs out of here but I guess we have to die.

Of course, it is more important that we die, than to violate the sacred cow of PC. Sarcasm off.

It makes you wonder just how high the body count has to go before the administration decides it's more important to destroy the enemy rather than worry about hurting their feelings.

Sheesh! It's as if Bill Clinton never left.

I agree, especially if FEMA sticks to the goverments unofficial motto; If it isn't broke, fix it till it is.

As we teach our Boy Scouts. Be Prepared. Or as I always told my own kids, it's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

Most emergency agencies do disaster drills for train wrecks, Bus accidents, fires and here in Texas they do them for Chemical spills and accidents. Why wouldn't FEMA decide they need a plan just in case, and maybe start doing so drills..

I was a Paramedic and lost track of all the drills we went through over the years. Would it be better to wait till something happens and say, Oh my god, what should be do?

It is called protecting America. That is, unless you like the Communist method and you just close the borders.

Perhaps there is a connection between FEMA's urgent rush and the upcoming "Navy Experiment called Juliet" planned along the southern California coast and southwestern U.S. beginning July 24th. See the article I posted.

I don't think they have been telling us not to worry. In fact some are complaining they are issuing too many warnings and they are telling us to be prepared etc.
This is a frightening senario, but I am pleased to know they are preparing for disaster.
