A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues;  salute
and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new
word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.  I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Nick Danger, That Is!

Nick's FReeper birthday is September 20, 1998,  and you'll see the Virginia flag on his profile page.   He is the first FReeper I remember seeing with a signature logo,  and you could always spot one of his posts by that little guy in the trench coat.  :)  I love that little trench coat guy!

Yesterday we talked about LBGA and the work she put into the FReeper Photo Album.  Today I want to thank Nick Danger for giving the Photo Album a home.  He graciously offered his own site as a host for the album. In addition to hosting the FReeper Photo Album,  Nick is the Site Administrator for the FRee Republic Network,  an organization separate from, but born out of the FRee Republic Forum.  For further information on FRee Republic Network, please visit:

One last thing I want to mention about Nick is that he is publisher of The Daily Spin (All the news that fits our agenda), which you need to see! He occasionally posts them on the forum.   :) Here are a couple of examples, straight from the Degenerate Propaganda Media, Inc.:

When I was in lurker mode, I always looked for Nick's posts as they are always reasoned, courteous, and full of substance. Thanks for all you do, Nick!!

Nick literally saved the Photo Album! When I first started it, it was a thread and the pics were on PhotoPoint. Nothing could be updated without creating an all new thread.

When Nick offered to host it, we had no idea PhotoPoint would be gone, but he set the database up so that it is easy for me to upload new pics, and changes could be seen immediately.

My special thanks to Nick for all his work to make the album possible... and yes, he does post clever, intelligent and funny replies as well. :-)

Good morning, L! I remember the first Photo Albums, and know how frustrating it was for you when you had to start over. Also, the first time, you couldn't really edit a photo (when someone wanted to change theirs) :) but had to delete the old and upload a new one with a different name in Photo Point, didn't you? This way, I understand, if someone wants to send a new image, you simply replace it (with the same name) and nobody ever knows the difference! :)

And I'm so glad you enjoyed your day yesterday - Nick had to follow you, though!

I noticed you did post the pic of you and BWB and her daughter at dinner that first night. Thanks! I understand about the swimsuit ones. :)
