LIBERAL DO GOODERS who think they can rehabilitate them RUN the INSITUTIONS, THE COURTS, and MAKE THE LAWS. This is the peoples socialist state of Kali..it will take 25 years to get him to the gurney. THEN ONLY IF SOME SOCIALIST JUDGE DOESN'T DELCARE IT A MIS-TRIAL due to ineffective defense lawyers (who BTW DO a bad job on purpose to throw Death Panalty cases).

Each State will have their own sex offender registery. Do a Google search to find your States online data base.
Might want to investigate this sitePEDO-Stop.org

"Nowadays it's not that hard to watch a person, if you know what I mean. There could be a watch group that shares info on each predator. This may sound bizarre, but I'm actually serious."A better method would be to brand by hot iron the letter of choice (M-molester, R-rapist, etc.) upon if not through the cheek of those so convicted. Then the 'watching' would be automatic...just a thought.

You believed the "Enquirer"? That lying 'rag' as you called it? I can't believe anyone would take the "Enquirer"'s guessing game tactics over a worried parent! That magazine has been known to pull this too many times. They sit and gossip about people, when they don't know crap, and that is cruel! They don't know anything, they just sit and speculate, because they don't like these people.
This family is going through a nightmare for their child, and people swallow the "Enquirer"'s bull crap like it's gospel truth? I just can't believe it! Most Mormons in this state do not practice polygamy anymore; and no, I'm not one, so that is crap! For heaven's sake, let's cut this poor family some slack, until we have more facts. Yeah they may have been too naive, but that doesn't mean that they are crooked, or have a weird lifestyle, just because they don't react the way some of us think they should act in the situation!

The back patting, hugging and high-fiving was a little weird. I think it was relief on their part more than anything else. if they caught the actual guy who did this so quickly, I'll happily pat their backs, give them high fives and hugs for a job well done!

They spent nearly a half an hour patting each other on the back...hugging each other and self glorifying. If I were there, I'd be patting them on the back too. I didn't find it so weird. These folks are beyond furious over this, and I'm sure they are grieving over the cruel loss of that precious child. While they can't bring her back, they've done the next best thing, which is to stop this monster from doing it again. My fervent hope is that the rest of the criminal justice system does their jobs as well as the LOE have so that this pig will pay for his wickedness with his life.

Yes , but HOW do you propose we do that ?

I live in SoCal, Orange County (Why? That's another story). When I heard the 911 tape driving to work this morning, it made me scared; gave me shivers up my spine and goosebumps on my arms. The 911 caller sounded like a young man; seemed like he was out and about for exercise, and for him to be so shaken, I think he realized he was in the presence of unadulterated evil. I think he was with a friend, and I sincerely hope that they will be OK, but of course they'll never be the same.

You have summed up my thoughts completely. Particularly in light of the description the little girl was able to give in the Runnion case, it points up even more the lack of cooperation in the Smart case.
I suspect the Smart's know exactly what happened to Elizabeth.

He seesm like a fine and competent law enforcement officer.Yes, I doubt if we'll see any photo-parodies of this officer like we have of some other ongoing investigations.

Well, to be more satisfying, death by guillotine should include at least one "oops" before the actual death blow. Too quick otherwise.

Had to do with previous post when mhking asked whether a child's looks and race had something to do with the amount of concern on the part of the public. My point was that there isn't always a picture of the child, and when there is, it's easier to empathize and it's harder to deal with than just a name. I also had said that it didn't make any difference about the race or how cute a child was, I've never forgotten our local little girl because even though she wasn't Jon Benet or Samantha looks-wise, she was still a child who suffered a horrible death. Long way to say I don't think race or looks has anything to do with it. Sorry for rambling -- was pretty upset they didn't get to Samantha before she was killed (not fault finding, but sad for parents)and even though they know who the killer is, it won't make it any easier. They never found the group responsible for Cassidy. Don't think it will make it any easier to take, even if they do. Closure is a myth.
