WND Exclusive Commentary
'Sawgrass Rebellion' launched "Private land owners are being forced off their land by a variety of coersive land-use policies, being imposed under the banner of Everglades Restoration," endangered species protection, open space, Heritage areas, and a host of other programs, all designed to displace people, or severely restrict the use of private property." Henry Lamb,  Executive vice president of the Environmental Conservation Organization.

"We predict that approximately 25,000 people will be forced to leave their homes." Don E. Lester, The 15,000 Coalition Naples, Florida

"WE'VE HAD ENOUGH!!" "We are taking back America and our rights as free citizens. Our hope has a name,  The Sawgrass Rebellion. In October, we will see what it is like to be a member of a family as big as this nation. We are definitely not alone in this fight and the powers-that-be will not be able to ignore the magnitude of our refusal to have our property rights trampled. We must take a stand to protect our land. Will you please join us in Naples, Florida."  Cindy Kemp, Naples Florida Property Rights Action Committee.

he is threatening to become a soldier...

Why didn't he become one thirty years ago?

Fox & Friends basically asked that question this morning.

Florida is Jeb Bush country. Does anyone think he'll be there in Naples to contradict/jeopardize his environmental awards by protecting your property rights?...

What do you think Summer?

Summer thinks that if 'it's for the good of the many' it's perfectly OK to take land from people who've lived there for generations. Even if it's a COE make work scam that's unproven to work even in small scale and supported by WildlandsUSA morons who just want 50% of the US to be people free. (Even though it hasn't been so for at least 15,000 years regardless of their 'pre-Columbus pristine environment' bullsh$t arguments)

Black Agnes, please do not make any more pathetic attempts to "explain" what it is I think about this issue.

And, lewislynn, I am sure that people who support Gov Bush -- and, those who actual know his strong record on protecting private property rights -- see my actual position in this matter as being a valid one.

I say that because while those people may not be posting on these threads, they freepmailed me to let me know.

Finally, my position is this: protecting private property owned by individuals IS important. And, ensuring a region has an adequate water supply is also important. Those who are about to lose their land and homes to the Everglades Restoration would be a lot smarter, IMO, if they spent their time contacting and attempting to work with Gov Bush to better protect their property rights in terms of remaining in Naples, because: once the govt pays them just compensation for their Golden Gate property (the cheapest land in this county), those residents won't be able to afford to move anywhere else in the county. Too bad they did not listen to me and try to work with a governor who has a strong record on helping private property owners - and is friends with developers. Would there have been a different outcome? I don't know. Maybe yes. Maybe no. But, too bad we'll never find out, since those property owners would rather protest than contact the governor whose record indicates he may well have tried to do something to support them. Oh well.

Please don't sit there and beat up Black Agnes like this. You are truly ignorant, and i have heard other FReepers complain about you.

I suggest you start educating yourself at this site: http://wildlandsprojectrevealed.org.

And, BTW, next time you mention "land owned by generations," try, just for once, mentioning in the same breath that Gov Bush may be the one and only governor in this country who signed the Rural and Family Owned Lands Protection Act -- a new law strongly supported by state farmers, rural land owners and others here in FL, as well as: private property rights groups who are actually interested in supporting leaders that go to bat for private property owners' rights. But, I realize such groups bother to do what I did and previously posted to you, although you never once responded to the facts. Why don't you actually review the records of political leaders including Gov Bush? It seems you and Henry Lamb couldn't care less as to such details.

Re your post #30 - I realize it is easy for you to say to me: 'You are truly ignorant and I have heard other freepers complain about you.' It is a lot harder to spend hours doing the research I did about this topic and finding out the facts. Thanks for all you have contributed to this dicussion: nothing.

Oh, BTW - your friend Black Agnes says this in response to the hours of research and links I have posted TO BLACK ANGES: NOTHING. I guess it's easy to blow your mouth off when you know nothing, but, it's tougher when the facts are begging for a response.

Oh, and one more thing - while you bad mouth me, don't forget to also badmouth (1) Henry Lamb, since he is a wacko who agrees with me on this point: the got does have a legal right to take property (although no FR poster will agree with Lamb on that point); and (2) GW Bush, as he is another wacko who keeps saying what I do - that the region's drought problems may be solved by this restoration. So, remember, sauropod: Henry Lamb, GW, and me - ALL wackos, all saying the same thing.

re: post #33. Hey Bozo! I have spent more than 10 years researching all this.

Do you deny that the goals of the eco-fascists is to get rid of private ownership of land as much as possible?

Do you deny that the goals of the eco-fascists is to rid vast areas of ANY human influence whatsoever?

Broad hint: I have HEARD (that's right, with my own ears) this in public hearings held by the Forest Service.

Oh, BTW, when we can't count on W. to protect private property rights, why should we think that Jeb is any different, hmmmmm...............?

I await a reasoned debate, but i don't think i will get one.

Re: Post #36. You expose your ignorance again. I know Henry's work and it is top notch.

Gubmint DOES have a legal right to take private land but only for specified uses like building armories, etc. and ONLY with just compensation.

Taking of land or the uses of land through use restriction devices such as conservation easements, "willing sellers", manipulating the Endangered Species Act, etc. is Un-Constitutional and Extra-Constitutional.

Try going to sites such as www.landrights.org or the one on conservation easements or eminent domain condemnations (captitol something) and educate yourself. Please?

Read how the National Park Service took the land in the Shenandoahs for the Skyline National Drive. Read how the monks of a monastery in the Adirondacks had to fight in order to keep their land as well from greedy gubmint bureaucrats.

As far as W knowing what the heck is going on in the land rights fight, I don't think so. Only good thing he has done is reject the Kyoto protocol.

He supports a whole host of other invasive eco-fascist regulations, or would you rather not discuss them?
