A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

~ ~ FREEDOM'S WORTH IT ! ! ! ~ ~ by LadyX
Those early colonists who established the concept of a land free from England's harsh and restrictive rule surely kept that cry in mind!
From Lexington to Concord - from Trenton to Valley Forge - Charleston to Savannah, and echoing in the halls in Philadephia where the Continental Congress was shaped; men who crafted the birth of a Republic kept the idea foremost in their minds.
More than 200 years later, we still repeat the cry; America a bright and shining star among the nations of the world.
One of our Free Republic members chose that screen name to denote her own beliefs - that a nation dedicated to God and His principles could grow and prosper.
It is with enormous pride that today we present and honor our very own Freedom'sWorthIt !!!
Freedom'sWorthIt
Member since August 7, 1998
Knowing of my long association with Freedom'sWorth it, Billie asked for my help with the lead-in. Nothing could please me more, being privileged to meet in her in person in November 1998. In Charlotte, North Carolina we had a gathering of CAROLINA Freepers, FWI traveling from Raleigh, NC and I from South Carolina to attend.
Our friendship grew and deepened through e-mail and Freep mail, both of us Christian and committed to promoting a conservative America.
She was among those who attended the 1998 March of Justice in Washington, D.C. She is one of THE most compassionate, passionate and well-spoken among our many Freepers. Her expressions on a broad range of subjects are without fail from the heart and beautifully articulated.
It is with pleasure that I add first my own recognition to you, Freedom'sWorthIt!
My thanks to you, LadyX, for being our Guest Writer today; I knew you would do a beautiful tribute, for I've seen the expressive way you have with words. You know that you'll be called upon again!
My thanks to you, FWI, for all that you do and all that you are.....you are truly one of FR's Finest, and I hope you enjoy your day in the !

Although the sign over my stove says
CLOSED, I must of necessity shall make an exception and fix dinner.
Be back in a little while, after not exactly slaving over the hot stove...
God invented semi-prepared things for the benefit of those-in-my-category, didn't He??...:)))

Thank you again, Maggie, for your excellent tribute to an excellent FReeper. And I'm serious about your doing it again!
FWI, tomorrow is your FR birthday, I'm sorry we couldn't have arranged your day on that day, but here's an early Happy Birthday!

HLL-you are such a doll to come over and remind us all about the wonderful 9-11 book FWI put together for the Guild care package to the USS Roosevelt.
I had actually forgotten about it-how could I-it was fantastic and so exciting to read all the things she put in it and then when she got the letter from the Admiral we were all so very happy for her.....

My dear friend and fellow prayer warrior,
FR is a better place because of your dedication, your intense patriotism, your deep faith, your caring and concern for others, and your sweet spirit. You bring forth much good fruit and we thank you for being here for us.
God bless you! And God bless that wonderful man who shares your life!
.
Psalm 1
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Hi Pippin...So nice to know you are interested in geneology and have Southern roots. My aunt did our family tree and we have ancestors from Va. who eventually settled in S.C. I must check it out and see if we have any from N.C. Also, have you read the book Cold Mountain which is set in Civil War N.C. It is excellent and will soon be a movie.
Lady X, my aunt told me I was DAR eligible and Daughters of the Confederacy eligible but alas, and alack, not too many chapters out here in California nor is it P.C. to brag about it. Lol...But I am proud...Very proud...

Hey, terrific lady! You don't have a clue what an inspiration you are, and that's part of your considerable charm. Because of your daily Psalms I am given a much needed reminder to chill for ten minutes and reflect on the fact my daily efforts are to be directed towards serving God. You live and share your faith online with so many of us daily -- God must be very pleased with you. You're no slouch in the political analysis department either. Congratulations!

Blue was composed and penned by Bill Mack, the late night voice of WBAP radio station for Patsy Cline. She died before she could record it. He kept it for low these many years before he heard MissRimes voice - and then he offered it to her.
Glad you enjoyed it again. ;-)

I can not think of a better selection for today's FR's finest than Freedom'sWorthIt. In addition to your dedication to the freedoms we aspire to in our great nation, your faith and strength are an inspiration. You always seem to be there when someone is asking for prayers for themselves or others. I often wonder if the good Lord has a ping list and your on it.
We just returned from Mr. D's cousin's funeral. That it just one example because FWI had the family on a prayer list within minutes of my request. They will continue to need help the upcoming months but I really felt the strength of prayer coming from my freeper friends as well as from their family and friends at the service.
On a positive note, am glad to be back home and enjoy this wonderful site with freeper friends. Got several suggestions and freepmails that I can freep at local libraries while on vacation minus internet. Thanks all. Great idea. It's kind of funny though....we're going to a beautiful lake in Northern Michigan, all the fishing, golfing, boating, just hanging out a person could dream for. Me..."Heading out to the libary for awhile...there's this book I've been trying to get...maybe they have it there... LOL"
