A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day 08-06-02

A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues;  salute
and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new
word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.  I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

~ ~ FREEDOM'S WORTH IT ! ! ! ~ ~
by LadyX

Those early colonists who established the concept of a land free from England's harsh and restrictive rule surely kept that cry in mind!

From Lexington to Concord -
from Trenton to Valley Forge -
Charleston to Savannah,
and echoing in the halls in Philadephia
where the Continental Congress was shaped;
men who crafted the birth of a Republic
kept the idea foremost in their minds.

More than 200 years later,
we still repeat the cry;
America a bright and shining star
among the nations of the world.

One of our Free Republic members chose that screen name
to denote her own beliefs - that a nation dedicated to God
and His principles could grow and prosper.

It is with enormous pride that today we present
and honor our very own Freedom'sWorthIt !!!

Freedom'sWorthIt

Member since August 7, 1998

Knowing of my long association with Freedom'sWorth it, Billie asked for my help with the lead-in.  Nothing could please me more, being privileged to meet in her in person in November 1998.  In Charlotte, North Carolina we had a gathering of CAROLINA Freepers, FWI traveling from Raleigh, NC and I from South Carolina to attend.

Our friendship grew and deepened through e-mail and Freep mail, both of us Christian and committed to promoting a conservative America.

She was among those who attended the 1998 March of Justice in Washington, D.C.  She is one of THE most compassionate, passionate and well-spoken among our many Freepers.  Her expressions on a broad range of subjects are without fail from the heart and beautifully articulated.

It is with pleasure that I add first my own recognition to you, Freedom'sWorthIt!

My thanks to you, LadyX, for being our Guest Writer today; I knew you would do a beautiful tribute, for I've seen the expressive way you have with words. You know that you'll be called upon again!

My thanks to you, FWI, for all that you do and all that you are.....you are truly one of FR's Finest, and I hope you enjoy your day in the !

Good morning! I thought LadyX was coming back yesterday. : ( Is anyone else having problems with the mail program this morning? I've been able to read mail, but when I tried to answer and hit "send", it just quit responding.

For all those I owe mail, I'll get there, promise!

Do hope you have a wonderful day in the spotlight, FWI! You are very deserving!

Thank you for all your marvelous, wonderful contributions to today's FR Finest thread and to all of them - and for all the ways you make this Cyber Home a joy for all who come here!

Below is a picture (not taken by me) of one of the beautiful places in North Carolina - one of the favorite places I love to go: Our Moutains.

I was born in the mountain area of North Carolina - and every time I look "unto these hills", it gives me a peace and a trust in the God who made these beautiful, magnificent hills, and in the God who brought my ancestors to these parts and led them all the way through trials and tribulations and joys and sorrows in this free land.

Thanks, ClaraSuzanne-very much!

Billie - that is such a great picture of Dakine's wife - and I am, of course, very envious of her getting to be there with our President! I hope whoever has replaced her will be as good and as wonderful as I know she has been at doing what she has done! (Maybe we can hear "some stories" one of these days about her time there......).

That is wonderful news - 20 hours of surgery...the parents had to be going through such an emotional and stressful time, just waiting for the doctors to come out and give them the news.

P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200-fpm descent.

S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.

Having spent 9 years in aircraft maintenance as an Automatic Flight Control Systems Specialist and Guidance and Control Specialist I can tell you that this is a commonly reported discrepancy, and is quite easy to duplicate on the ground. You just need the right test equipment.

I will say that I've seen funnier write-ups than these!
