A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

~ ~ FREEDOM'S WORTH IT ! ! ! ~ ~ by LadyX
Those early colonists who established the concept of a land free from England's harsh and restrictive rule surely kept that cry in mind!
From Lexington to Concord - from Trenton to Valley Forge - Charleston to Savannah, and echoing in the halls in Philadephia where the Continental Congress was shaped; men who crafted the birth of a Republic kept the idea foremost in their minds.
More than 200 years later, we still repeat the cry; America a bright and shining star among the nations of the world.
One of our Free Republic members chose that screen name to denote her own beliefs - that a nation dedicated to God and His principles could grow and prosper.
It is with enormous pride that today we present and honor our very own Freedom'sWorthIt !!!
Freedom'sWorthIt
Member since August 7, 1998
Knowing of my long association with Freedom'sWorth it, Billie asked for my help with the lead-in. Nothing could please me more, being privileged to meet in her in person in November 1998. In Charlotte, North Carolina we had a gathering of CAROLINA Freepers, FWI traveling from Raleigh, NC and I from South Carolina to attend.
Our friendship grew and deepened through e-mail and Freep mail, both of us Christian and committed to promoting a conservative America.
She was among those who attended the 1998 March of Justice in Washington, D.C. She is one of THE most compassionate, passionate and well-spoken among our many Freepers. Her expressions on a broad range of subjects are without fail from the heart and beautifully articulated.
It is with pleasure that I add first my own recognition to you, Freedom'sWorthIt!
My thanks to you, LadyX, for being our Guest Writer today; I knew you would do a beautiful tribute, for I've seen the expressive way you have with words. You know that you'll be called upon again!
My thanks to you, FWI, for all that you do and all that you are.....you are truly one of FR's Finest, and I hope you enjoy your day in the !

Do you remember the kids from South Mecklenburg (Charlotte) going to Boston to TEACH, yep TEACH those kids to get along? Oh how proud I was when I found out (still am). Though I attended East for a short time and Myers Park the rest of the years we were in Charlotte - there was never a hint of animosity between the students. My senior year at Myers we became integrated and I had classes with some of the new students, they were some of the nicest people - one I believe was on the football team and very popular in that way that guys have at that age - cars- sports etc.
All of the problems that came about were mostly in Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Atlanta and yes we did have some small incidences here in the Carolinas. But if you read the stories and the history very carefully, you will find the instigators were from other parts of the country. One guy I knew in Atlanta who was involved told me that they thought the white and black Southerners were to stupid and dumb and had to be shown the way. Needless to say, my hackles rose at that one.
We had lived for a short time in the Beer and Pretzel capital of the world, Reading,PA. I had not known what the word bigotted meant until I lived there.
The south has contributed more to this country than any other region. This includes statesmen, presidents, singers, songwriters, artists, writers, poets, inventors, and let's not forget that the south has contributed more of it's sons and daughter to the defense of this country than any other region of the country.
Our heritage is steeped in the history of this country and we are proud of it, white and black and justifiably so.
Oh no, I did it again, sorry... I usually save my rants for Paltalk and the FReeper rooms there...
Hugs Sistah Cuz, you are the bestest!!!!!!!!!!!

A man died and his wife phoned the newspaper to place an obituary. She called the obituary department and said,
"This is what I want to print: Bernie is dead."
The man at the newspaper said, "But for $25 you are allowed to print six words."
The woman answered, "Okay, then print: Bernie is dead. Toyota for sale."

Yes I remember all of that, Dixie Sass! Yes, for heaven's sake - just the founders themselves were enough to keep our country going in the beginning - those from Virginia!
Mo1 - thank you for the Angel wings and wisdom!

You finally are getting some much deserved attention today. Keep it up! (Like I think you won't!)

Thank you SO much for the kind words...........but I certainly don't mean to distract from the REAL star of this thread (and deservedly so), FWI. :)

Lodwick the beach pictures - esp of that pony - are soooo good! Thank you for those and for all your contributions today! I will post some photos I have from NC scenes soon. (not as nice as Valerie's - but will show some of what we have taken through the years....)

Hello, everyone, again. Back from supper. (We call it supper in the South. I understand it's called dinner other places!!! Glad you are opening your kitchen, LadyX, to fix some tonight. I did the same! LOL)
Kayak - thank you for that Psalm 1 and for your kind remarks and for being a dependable and always willing prayer warrior whenever there is a need!!!!! (and I seem to have had many these last several years!!!!) What did I do before I knew this wonderful Freeper prayer family????
Dutchess - glad to hear your report - and to you and McLynnan and MJY1288 - you guys never fail to say thank you for the Psalm posting. It's good to hear that now and then because it's good to know to whom God is speaking through His word. (the Psalms speak to me every single time I post them!)
Rightonline - for some reason I could not see the pictures of your babies - but that's ok - if you don't want to leave them up there, I understand.
Kaslin - welcome!!!!!

In view of you leavin' to eat a 'Southern Supper' with your Sweetie, instead of using a standard French phrase, I'll go with today's Southern flow:
Hopin' yew enjoy those vittles, darlin' - and hurry back - y'heah??
(bless your heart!!)
