A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day 08-06-02

A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues;  salute
and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new
word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.  I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

~ ~ FREEDOM'S WORTH IT ! ! ! ~ ~
by LadyX

Those early colonists who established the concept of a land free from England's harsh and restrictive rule surely kept that cry in mind!

From Lexington to Concord -
from Trenton to Valley Forge -
Charleston to Savannah,
and echoing in the halls in Philadephia
where the Continental Congress was shaped;
men who crafted the birth of a Republic
kept the idea foremost in their minds.

More than 200 years later,
we still repeat the cry;
America a bright and shining star
among the nations of the world.

One of our Free Republic members chose that screen name
to denote her own beliefs - that a nation dedicated to God
and His principles could grow and prosper.

It is with enormous pride that today we present
and honor our very own Freedom'sWorthIt !!!

Freedom'sWorthIt

Member since August 7, 1998

Knowing of my long association with Freedom'sWorth it, Billie asked for my help with the lead-in.  Nothing could please me more, being privileged to meet in her in person in November 1998.  In Charlotte, North Carolina we had a gathering of CAROLINA Freepers, FWI traveling from Raleigh, NC and I from South Carolina to attend.

Our friendship grew and deepened through e-mail and Freep mail, both of us Christian and committed to promoting a conservative America.

She was among those who attended the 1998 March of Justice in Washington, D.C.  She is one of THE most compassionate, passionate and well-spoken among our many Freepers.  Her expressions on a broad range of subjects are without fail from the heart and beautifully articulated.

It is with pleasure that I add first my own recognition to you, Freedom'sWorthIt!

My thanks to you, LadyX, for being our Guest Writer today; I knew you would do a beautiful tribute, for I've seen the expressive way you have with words. You know that you'll be called upon again!

My thanks to you, FWI, for all that you do and all that you are.....you are truly one of FR's Finest, and I hope you enjoy your day in the !
~ Billie

I wish I knew exactly the location of that NC Mountain picture. I just know it was from Oct 98 in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It could be one of any number of beautiful little coves and valleys there. Yes, the NC Mtns are the most beautiful in the world - but, then, I am a bit prejudiced!

Share them with us. I've never seen anything like that before and I am still laughing especially about the mice and the cockpit and installing a cat.

I was in N. Carolina for the first time last month and drove the eastern portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway - it was such a beautiful drive on a gorgeous day.

The character that Mel Gibson (sighhhhhhhh) played in the Patriot, is a mixture of three very real people.

Benjamin Martin was a composite of Col. Daniel Morgan, Francis Marion, Elijah Clark, Thomas Sumter, and Andrew Pickens.

Good morning, mtngrl!

How our friendship has blossomed and it means a great deal to me!

Well - the Psalm started, as you remember, as a posting from the Proverbs - then moved to the Psalms - as sort of the "balm of Gilead" to soother all our hurting hearts and to remember that God honors those who honor Him, that there is a difference between "evildoers" both in our country and outside of our country ---- and that God's truths do not change - in fact they help explain - all that is going on in our world and in our country today.

I have enjoyed celebrating our Godly and good President and First Lady with you! What a "balm" they have been for all our weary souls after the eight years of total debauchery and treachery we endured from the Clinton Crime Family being in power over this nation!

That struggle still continues today - but somehow, through it all, God blessed us with a President who, of all things, knows and honors God and who is being upheld in prayer by untold millions who also know that Freedom is Worth the fight to save our nation!

Here are a couple of pictures of some of North Carolina's Freepers/patriots rallying for George W. Bush after the 2000 election but before the outcome was known:
