......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues;  salute
and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new
word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.  I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

When I was asked to write a tribute about one of Free Republic’s Finest Members, I knew immediately who that would be. This is a person who is passionate about his political activism and openly proud of his membership in Free Republic. He is known to his fellow FReepers as Freedom Poster.

.45MAN and I were privileged to meet Freedom Poster last May 18 at a FReep that he helped organize against Cynthia McKinney, notorious Congressional Representative of the 4th District in Georgia. Upon arriving at the scene, Freedom Poster’s enthusiasm was immediately infectious. The handful of us that showed up to rally against “Jihad Cindy” embraced Freedom Poster as our eloquent and informed spokesperson. Freedom Poster was “grace under fire” as McKinney’s father Billy spewed hate-filled diatribes against us. Trying (unsuccessfully) to engage Mr. McKinney in a politically based debate, Freedom Poster never once lost his cool while being shouted down with filthy, hateful and accusatory charges, some of a personal nature.

Later, Freedom Poster was interviewed by two different local TV stations, one a Fox affiliate. We were proud of how he handled himself and of the resulting news footage later that night. Since then, he has busied himself, along with Guillermo and others, spreading the word to 4th District Republicans and Democrats alike of how imperative it is to unseat McKinney and to end her and her father’s reign of hate. Pull up any of the many McKinney threads on Free Republic and chances are you will “run into” one of Freedom Poster’s thoughtful and oftentimes witty remarks.

To me, Freedom Poster exudes the qualities of the ideal FReeper. Post-McKinney, I feel very sure that there will be other issues of great importance that he will whole-heartedly embrace. As it is, in his “spare time” Freedom Poster maintains an e-mail list to whose members he forwards interesting articles about the War with Radical Islam. He began this venture on September 12. Most of what he sends out is gleaned from - where else? - Free Republic. Freedom Poster’s favorite FR poster is Diogenesis of whom he says, “His posts are masterpieces.”

I look forward to supporting Freedom Poster as a natural-born leader fighting against other future injustices. Freedom Poster is truly a “born FReeper,” an American patriot of the highest magnitude and a man of whom we all should be very proud. ~~dansangel
