In my PREVIOUS thread, I promoted the concept of "DumpDAVIS" street theater FReeps.I am now proposing that we modify this concept to form a "Minuteman-style" MOBILE STRIKE FORCE that we can deploy on a moments notice as soon as we find out where Gray Davis will be.
The heart of these mini-FReeps will be the "eGray Davis" prostitute costume, which can be worn by ANY (preferably male) FReeper. Everything else is secondary, IMHO. Nice to have, but not vital.

Bribe$!!!
www.eGray.org
www.FreeRepublic.comOur message is:
"Gray Davis is for sale to the highest bidder so you cannot TRUST him."As we learned from the anti-Bush/Simon rally in Los Angeles last month, ONE good powerful visual image may be all that is necessary to break through the media clutter. The RAT opposition may be able to out-NUMBER us, but we can out-THINK them!I now have TWO (2) "Beavis" rubber masks, and should have two (2) "eGray Davis" costumes ready in about a week, which could be worn by virtually ANY male FReeper. I will also soon have printed two (2) big professionally designed 2-foot by 3-foot signs that say "eGray Davis Will Work for Bribe$" and two big "Hazardous Waste" garbage cans, for the prostitute characters to stand inside.
Voila. Instant FReep! (In duplicate - or MORE!)We will also soon have a dozen 3-foot by 4-foot "Davis-in-a-Dumpster" Styrofoam cutouts, plus two complete Superman costumes - to promote "S is for SIMON," at least one "GRAY Reaper" costume - to promote "Dioxin Dumpers for Davis," and MANY other anti-Davis signs all of which would be a good complement to the "eGray" character, so that we can ADD to the overall effectiveness of our "DumpDAVIS" FReeps with as many warm bodies that show up.
But all that we NEED for a successful "DumpDAVIS" mini-FReep is a little advance notice. Here is a list of some possible "DumpDAVIS" FReep dates and venues:Tuesday (9/17) noon to 2 pm Simon/Camejo debate at the Beverly HiltonIf you hear of ANY public event where Bill Simon - or preferably Gray Davis - is scheduled to attend, please PING me ASAP!
Saturday (9/21) 11 am to 1 pm "Latino Summit" at the Westin Bonaventure (L.A.)
Saturday (9/28) - to be determined - California GOP Convention in Orange County
Monday (9/30) 10 am to noon Bill Simon speech at the Nixon Library
Saturday (10/5 or 10/12 - ?) - proposed statewide Sacramento FReep
"Dump DAVIS!"
It appears that now the Green Party MAY NOT be protesting Gray Davis on TUESDAY (9/17) from noon to 2 pm at the Beverly Hilton. The Green Party campaign manager is trying to notify HIS troops to instead be at a protest on SATURDAY (9/21) morning from 11am to 1pm for a Latino Summit at the Westin Bonaventure in downtown L.A. where both Simon AND Davis are scheduled to appear.
See my post #141 from:
"Dump DAVIS" FReep ideas:
statewide "Super SIMON" street theater puts Davis-in-a-Dumpster, NEW logo
As I understand it though, 2-3,000 members of the NCM media expo will still be there on TUESDAY, the debate between Bill Simon and Peter Camejo will still be there, and SOME protesters from the Greens and RATs may still be there, so **I** still plan to be there. While this Beverly Hilton FReep may be lightly attended, it will be a good DRESS REHEARSAL - IMHO - for the concept, and an excellent opportunity to get some "live action" photos to use in promoting FUTURE "DumpDAVIS" FReeps on FR and to the press.
Still, some may not have seen this WONDERFUL parody yet, and you cannot get too much of a good thing, IMHO...Spoof site no joke for eBay

Spoof site no joke for eBay
A parody Web site called "eGray," which takes aim at California gubernatorial incumbent Gray Davis, has drawn the attention of auction giant eBay--and its lawyers.

This thread is an EXCELLENT follow-up of the EARLIER threads about eGray, posted here as the story developed:

OK Rondog, it's you and me, baby.LOL! Excellent!I'll show as the Gray Reaper, but no way am I putting on that getup you're talking about.
So what time is this shindig scheduled?
Not everyone looks good in fishnets and garters. :o)The "Gray Reaper" is certainly welcome!!
I plan to arrive before noon at the Beverly Hilton, on TUESDAY, September 17.
The debate between Bill Simon and Green Party candidate Peter Camejo starts at 2 pm, so that will be the END od the FReep.
Parking is expensive ($6) but SAFE, in a covered, guarded facilities - at either the Hilton or the adjacent Robinsons/MAY department store paking lots.
I have checked out the venue, and suggest that we meet on the NORTH side of Wilshire, in a small park on either side of the intersection of Wilshire with Trenton Drive.
Also, here is a list of some OTHER possible "DumpDAVIS" FReep dates and venues:Tuesday (9/17) noon to 2 pm Simon/Camejo debate at the Beverly Hilton
Not everyone looks good in fishnets and garters. :o)My reference, of course, is to the "eGray hooker" prototype, from Mike Ramirez's WONDERFUL cartoon:
Oh well... Wish I could help ;0)
~ Gray Devious ~ the Prince of Darkness
A researcher could find an interesting Sacremento Bee article if they used key words, Continental airlines employees/Roberti/Willie Brown/Gray Davis/bankruptcy. Hopefully those key words will reveal an early 1980s story.
Oh well... Wish I could help ;0)You CAN help, actually - in addition to going on TV as one of the MANY "eGray Hookers" that I would like to see spring up EVERYWHERE.
WHERE do you live, anyway, that they do not have TV cameras? ;o)Please watch for ANY announcement that Gray Davis is scheduled to appear ANYWHERE.
The more advance notice that we get, the better.I want to have us HAUNT him for the next two months, so that a FReeper dressed as the "eGray Hooker" shows up at EVERY ONE of his public appearances, to distract him, and the media.
But I do love the parody - EGray - LOL. EBAy can file suit all they want, but they will be denied based on the freedom of political speech and satire in this country. Others have tried to sue because of parodies in recent years, and all have pretty much lost...
I'd sure be interested in a Saturday Sacramento Freep given enough advance notice to get the proper time off.Thanks. I am wide open to ANY date.~ Gray Devious ~ the Prince of Darkness
I have been trying to get some kind of HOOK, though, to bring in the media.
You know, drive a GIANT dump truck to a DUMP, etc...
Can you help?
WHEN will Davis be in Sacramento? Thanks!
What ELSE is going on there, that we can tie into?
Well, I don't live in California so unless Gray comes up here to sit on Gary Locke's lap...It COULD happen... :)
DESIGN CALIFORNIA'S NEW 25-CENT COIN!
As Slate.com points out today, the new state quarters are horribly ugly. And guess what? The state of California is now soliciting design ideas for its own butt-ugly quarter. The common complaint about these unattractive coins is that taste-blind bureaucrats just throw together a bunch of elements -- a trumpet, music notes, a pelican and a map of the Louisiana Purchase in this horrid example. So let's keep it simple, for the sake of art. The staff of LA Examiner humbly offers our own design.
