You have it backwards. Rich neighborhoods are created by people that are honest and hard working; people that would not mug someone simply because they themselves are failures.
The Blacks that live in my neighborhood are not muggers and would be appalled by your statement.
Stay safe; stay armed.
There are delinquents in every neighborhood. Many of the kids in my neighborhood (median home price = $1.8 million) are as dishonest and lazy as those you'll find in the poorest slums. But their parents are rich, so they don't go around robbing folks for $20. I agree that culture is very important. But so is poverty.

Speak for yourself, please. There are quite a few who'd rather withold those kind of statistics, I'm quite certain. Here's another fact you probably don't want to know -- Hispanics are "white" when they commit a crime -- but Hispanic when they are a victim of crime. Neat, huh? If anything, obfuscation of the reality of crime causes discord -- there's a profound disconnect with what is reported in the media -- and taught in schools -- compared with the truth.
But, assuming Mr. Card's perspective, could we also apply that to the history of lynchings and Jim Crow? wouldn't these also be facts not worth knowing?

And I spent 5 years as a grad student at the U. of Chicago visiting black friends (technicians, animal caretakers, and students in my professor's lab)in their homes and occasionally returning by myself to some very good black- and Chinese-owned eateries that they put me onto........
