FYI - At Detroit Metro airport, because of the huge Muslim population, (I think Detroit has the highest concentration in the nation), they are triple-checking EVERYONE who appears to be Muslim, before they enter the airplanes.

Just woke up here in Japan (stayed up watching "Rumour Of War" on AFN (I think they put it on for the 227th USMC Birthday) and channel surfing to the UN story). to cherry; Maybe we've done all we can by just pointing out
that M & M were in the area of the Short family that month and were shooting
people in the head with a .22 handgun.
That seems to be (IMHO) the preferred way of killing by Muhammad.
Police should now
have more than enough to verify or discredit the theory.
I sure hope M & M didn't have MORE THAN ONE .22 handgun,
though I have no reason to think they did.

Betty Jo; I knew of the $1000 owed to the Indiana truck driving school but couldn't see why that could be relevent. I'm more
interested in seeing if there are stronger links to Michigan

aristeides; I still think Muhammad was in the process of
converting to Islam way before 1997
(certainly no later than 1993)
due to other things I've read, and have in timeline#1. But
the article you found is great in other ways. It solves the
Michaels stores mystery! Michaels was her FAVORITE store.
I'd say that's why he went at least twice to the Fall's Church
shopping center, because Michaels was nextdoor, and he was
casing the area, hoping she would show up.
He probably spent time in every one of the stores in that complex, all the while closely watching Michaels.
We also now know where Mildred was, all the while the shootings were going on, Southern Maryland Hospital Center.
Interesting to see how close Muhammad had been to finding her.
This is too bad really, because the media will focus on this
and COMPLETELY pooh-pooh any terrorism angle, which
I'm sure is still a huge part of it. I believe he
vehemently hated cops and the US government, and wholely
embraced one of the Islamic group's call for Jihad.
Mildred's a bit of a flake too if you ask me.

One thing is certain, and shouldn't be overlooked by the
press... The Jihad groups watched VERY closely how effective
two people with guns could be on terrorizing us for a
month. I say they will DEFINATELY be back!

And if she felt it was Muhammad doing all the killing in DC,
why didn't she come forward to police? I say to a large
extent, she's looking for her 15 minutes of fame, or should
I say, her $15 MILLION in book deals and movie rights.
One thing, if she is right about John, AND if he has good
accomplices that are dedicated to him, she still needs to

Al Michalezyk, shot on golf course in May, bullet went in and out, Mr. Michalezyk spent 4 hours in hospital. No bullet or casing found.

Cheryl Witz, father was killed, gun down on golf course in Tucson, Arizona in March. Wallet was taken, but perp dropped it when he jumped the fence. Ms. Witz does not know if the bullet was ever retrieved. LE investigating.

Interesting to see how close Muhammad had been to finding her.

According to one of Mildred's neighbors, Mohammad had found Mildred. Perhaps she was not aware. The day after M&M was captured or it was the next day, the media interviewed one of Mildred's neighbor (a young black guy) that had been out walking his dog and said he had saw Mohammad standing in Mildred's front yard and also recalled seeing the chevy caprice parked in the vicinity.

Also, I believe it was Mildred's brother who said one of the children had seen Mohammad, ran in the house, told another of the siblings that he/she had seen daddy, but they did not pay attention to the child. Told he/she that they were mistaken.

I used some of the words you remembered reading, and I found
a couple articles that strongly suggested Muhammad DID find
Mildred, and (reading between the lines) it was quite some time ago so he obviously wasn't in too big a hurry to
knock her off. I think he might never have done so, but just
kidnapped his kids again and this time disappear better.
(Sure he'd probably kill her too if it was convenient and
his kids didnt think it was daddy that did it)

I don't believe for one second, these guys killed SOOOOOO
many people, ALL AROUND THE COUNTRY just to cover up
one dead ex-wife! How would Mildred's brother explain
why killing golfers in Tucson in any way helped cover up
a 'planned murder' in DC? Anyway, thanks for the tips

Last Sunday's Washington Post had a front-page article about places in the D.C. area where the snipers had been sighted. Generally, Muhammad was by himself in fast-food joints and restaurants, you're right. But not always. The article mentions a sports bar that they both came into. Malvo went to the bathroom, and Muhammad tried to order a beer for each of them. But the waitress said Malvo looked too young, so she demanded proof, which Muhammad said Malvo did not have. So Muhammad ordered a coke for Malvo, and drank his own beer (lots of stories of Muhammad drinking beer, even in the morning at a bar in Bellingham -- some Moslem!)

For now he is being treated as a juvenile, altho VA can charge him as an adult. Perhaps they have information they haven't released about his age for when they formally indict him.
