That witness description and composite drawing reminds me of one from another Califiornia homicide; I'll see if I can locate it.

In this request for information, I better clarify. Information is requested on assaults/murders which have no apparent motive, as in the case of Officer Mobilio.

In the case of Sgt. Green, he was responding to a burglary call, and was murdered by the apparent suspect, who is in custody.

FYI, I have sent the link to this thread to the Investigators at Red Bluff PD, so that they will be aware that there are a WHOLE BUNCH of people watching out for the POI. Also so they know that our thoughts and prayers are with them.

In this request for information, I better clarify. Information is requested on assaults/murders which have no apparent motive, as in the case of Officer Mobilio.

Well, it was a case of a California gunshop with a possible motive of robbery, but if you'd give the Mobilio composite figure a shave and haircut and bleach his hair, his height, build and facial structure seems similar. Or, alternately, if a blond witness/or perp implicated in a previous homicide no longer wished to look like the composite drawings of him, he might now resemble that more recent one.

But I would think that if nothing else, a list of the firearms taken in the previous *Sportsman's Den* murder might be of interest to the investigators working Mobilio's murder. While most likely a coincidencem, if one happes to be of the same type or caliber identified as used to kill the policeman, it would be hoped that some activity in the earlier case might finally be observed.

The witness, who authorities stressed is not a suspect, is a white male in his early 20s, wearing a beanie and driving a brown or tan Oldsmobile Achiva, about seven to ten tyears old, authorities said.

Red Bluff is on I5 north in northern California. It is about 20 miles south of Redding.

The problem with some of these small newspapers is that they have one site for front page pictures, editorial cartoons and sports pictures. Each day as the news changes, so do the pictures at that site.

LATEST UPDATE:

A short while ago I got a call from the FBI at the Red Bluff Command Center. The Agent stated, after I promised to fax him the information I gleaned from the Internet yesterday, that the investigation is continuing. They are following numerous leads that should pan out soon.

The agent then said something that I could post, which lead me to ask him if I could post the entire story here to ask for your assistance. At first he said I should use my judgement on whether to post the whole story or not, then asked me to refrain from posting it till after he brings up the question at tomorrow morning's briefing.

If the powers that be approve my posting, by mid-morning tomorrow I might be able to tell you all what has been happening in this case since Friday evening. IT WILL BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF!!!!!! Watch for a new post from me if the powers that be give the go ahead, and an URGENT, EMERGENCY request to Seattle freepers for any information. In the meantime, please continue to circulate the information from this thread regarding the person of interest. And PLEASE continue to bump this thread to your PING lists!!!!
