W. I. N. = War Is Necessary Organization

Like all Americans, September 11th means a lot to me. I consider it the worst day in my life, even though everyone who I had known who worked at the WTC made it out alive. What angers me now are four very big problems I see in America today. I want to explore creating a Political Activist Group to support the war, and put pressure on the government to fight the war the way it needs to be fought. I have come up with the idea of, W. I. N. - War Is Necessary Organization. Right now this is an experiment. I would like to know who would be interested in joining. The initial goal is to have 1000 members in all 50 states. With elections being as close as they are 1000 votes can mean the difference between losing and winning. WINorganization@aol.com

From the Land of Lautenberg -

Hi I recently joined Free Republic. I have been reading posts on Free Republic over a year after a friend told me about it. Recently joined because I like Free Republic activism. A little about me and what I want to do. Like all Americans, September 11th means a lot to me. I consider it the worst day in my life, even though everyone who I had known who worked at the WTC made it out alive. What angers me now are four very big problems I see in America today. 1. Americans are beginning to become complacent with what happened on 9/11. 2. The talk of the Peace Movement! What drove me over the edge with this was when MTV asked its stars why there have not been that many songs about the war like there were in Vietnam! First, there has been, by Country Music stars. MTV stars are too materialistic to care. Second, we do not want to hear protest songs! We want to hear rallying songs like those of World War II. 3. The Bush Administration's lack of clarity with this war. They are unwilling to name the enemy (militant Islam). It's acceptance of Colin Powell's dangerous policies that included working with the UN, and it's visa policy. It's refusal to put troops on our borders. It's willingness to reward terror by calling for a Palestinian State, and punishing our true allies in the war, Israel AND INDIA, by calling for their restraint, shows the Administration lacks the courage to do as it preaches, "You are ether with us or with the terrorists." It seems that we...are with the terrorists. It's reluctance to declare that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan by no means are our Allies. If Clinton was bought off by the Chinese I see no reason why not the Bush Administration could not have been bought off by the Saudi's. Furthermore, his requestof the American people to go back to our lives when we wanted to go to war, and his asking of young Americans to join the PEACE CORE, rather than the Armed Forces during his first Address to Nation in front of both House of Congress.

I am no Republican patsy, I am a conservative and that allows me to criticize the Bush Administration freely. I believe that the Bush Administration has not felt any real pressure to do what is necessary to win this war. The only opposition it has gotten has been from Democrats. I want that to end. One of the ways I want to help with the war is by joining the army. I am preparing my self to do so. In the mean time, I want to explore creating a Political Activist Group to support the war, and put pressure on the government to fight the war the way it needs to be fought. W. I. N. to be successful needs to be a political powerhouse on par with the N. R. A. I want to create mission statement and outline policies that the organization will want to advance. I also want the create merchandise, like bumper stickers/posters (like those seen in cities promoting concerts and new albums) so that we can spread W. I. N. 's message. As well creating a network that would use the media to advance W. I. N. 's message. I want our voice to be heard. So this is an APB. If you would be interested in becoming a member, or are willing to help build W. I. N. into a powerful political lobbyist group...all I want you to do is send your name, e-mail address and what city and state you are from to, WINorganization@aol.com. Also if you could state if you just want to be a member, or would like a position that would help advance W. I. N. I am not asking for any money. I am just testing the waters, but if we get enough interest we can make this a reality. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you,

Joshua Morgan - - Founder of W. I. N. War Is Necessary Organization

Your idea is sound. Your ultimate goal is well defined. However, the "way to win the war" or "do it right" is vague. What do you propose as to what is the "right way" to win this war? Extremist radicals would say, "Nuke every country in the world!" Leftists would say, "Do everything the Muslims want and beg them to forgive us." What do YOU say? If you can tell everyone this then you might get more responses.

I'll answer if you don't mind:

Select your target based on best intelligence and determination of greatest - near term - threat.

Then kick the living shi* out of them.
Stop when they cannot possibly rise from the ashes until the second coming,
Then help them up to some level suitable to the world order you deem to be appropriate.

Those who are a threat in the longer term you talk with, offer consideration for moderation, determine their willingness to continue negotiations.
And put them on the "A list" if they don't show promise.

Hence, Mexico and Iraq, Palestine and North Korea, are prime members of the "you're next" list.
I'd recommend much of Latin America, and Albania would be vary close to following in their footsteps.
France and Germany don't have the guts to carry forward with their little schemes if there is no one out there waiving their flags in support.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the earlier "W.I.N.O." reply.

Would you want to join an organization called, WINO?
You do have a point...but I think limiting the name simply to W.I.N. War Is Necessary would be to little. I'll take in consideration dropping the Organization part of the name.
Thanks. But ignoring the "W.I.N.O." part, what do you think? Would you be interested?

First, I hope that you read the full Post and not just the synopsis. I purposely left the post brief. I wanted to get interest before I elaborated. I figure that most people would not want to read multipage post. Now that I see that I have sparked interest, I will write a more detailed list of what issues W. I. N. would push to help win the war.
I do not agree with ether of the "Extremist" views that you listed, and will shortly give a detailed list of what I believe is necessary.
Thank you for your interest...and hopefully I will soon be able to persuaded you to become a member.

I think your plan is in the right place but a little too simplistic. It exaggerates American power, and does not take in the intentions of the rest of the world toward America.

We must keep in mind what the rest of the world truly thinks of us (jealous envy, and enjoys nothing more than to see us wronged [9/11]) and proceeded from there. My plan, which I have yet to post is more detailed, but equally aggressive but more effective.

Personally...I think our greatest threat is ourselves! We have to fix a lot more on our own turf before we start roughing up others.

I hope to post a more detailed list/plan very soon.

Thank you..and hopefully you will soon become a member.

Not at this time. I think the world misunderestimates George W's inteligence and resolve. If we haven't gotten off the dime and crushed them soon, I'll reconsider. In the meanwhile I'd hate to ruin the surprise...

No, not "War is Necessary," but "Winning is Necessary."

CJ has it right. Sometimes, war is necessary, but in this case, it is not even a matter of choosing. The war has begun. As on 7 December 1941, it was brought to us, we did not go looking for trouble. We are at war because we have been attacked. Now the only option left to us is to fight to win.

As for Iraq, people seem to forget that we are not about to start a war with Saddam Hussein, we have been at war with him since January 1991. The Gulf War never ended, there was only a cease-fire, a cease-fire which the Iraqi's have persistently and consistently violated. They have suffered for their belligerence, and they will suffer more, until they decide themselves to to get rid of the clan of madmen whom they have accepted as rulers for the last 20 years. To me the question is, will renewed ground operations against Iraq, with the avowed intent of removing the current Iraqi government, help or hinder the long range goal of doing to terrorists what the civilized world did to pirates in the 19th century.

Not "War" but "Winning"...interesting. I had the same thought, but I believed that I accomplished the idea of "Winning" with initials - "W. I. N.". I figured it spoke for it's self.

I could change it to W.W.I.N. - Winning War is Necessary, and still pronounce it as Win. What do you think?

"W.W.I.N." is already being used by -

www.wwin.org - "WWIN is the acronym for Washington Women's Information Network. Established in 1983..."

Sounds like a bunch of liberal feminist who would never want its initials shared with a Conservative Political Action Group. Hmmm...C.P.A.G. C-Pag?

Hey, if it were me I would choose Winning Is Necessary, and allow the initials to reinforce the message. Be advised that one of the leftist/libertarian gripes on the war againt terror is the idea of perpetual warfare, with no end or win at all.

I dont like the name but I like the concept.

I was thinking the same thing myself, Monday, after watching a NPR puff peice on the "peace movement". it sickened and saddened me that the folks who want to aid and abet evil by failing to properly respond to it are called "peace activists".

I think it only plays into their hands to make this a "peace vs. war" thing. It's not!!! I disagree that "war is necessary" (it implies a choice) - I agree that War Has already started! The Al Qaeda has attacked us since 1994! 5,000 innocents have died at the hands of Muslim extremists in the last decade. We have no choice.
The issue is NOT War or Peace. The Issue is whether we will respond, fight, and fully win. It will require not just military victories, but a victory in the hearts and minds of people. We need to win on the battlefield of ideas as well.

So a different take on what is required: Along with military and judicial response, we need a vanguard of idealists who will defeat Jihadism and advance Love of Liberty: "Freedom International". We have a republican Party at home, and aother groups (Cato, Heritage, NRA, CWA) to advance and defend our political beliefs. But how do we advance and WIN in a War of ideas and power world-wide?
What if we had a "Free Republic" for Iran? for Iraq? For the world? What if we challenged the Jihadists on their own terms and defeated their IDEOLOGY, which is the ultimate 'source of their power'? And what if we made it clear to Americans the necessity of the war and the necessity of understanding and fighting it properly, so that all Americans did what they could to root out the bad ideas that exist that foster terrorism? Not just at home, but the aiding and abetting of terror here in the US by radical professors, Muslim groups (CAIR), and defeatist/pcaifist attitudes? ( A great guide to this btw is a speech by former CIA director Woolesy, it was posted on free republic recently).

In the end, victory for freedom will happen if *and only if* the ideologies that threaten freedom are defeated, disbelieved and disgraced. An organization that calls for Americans to rise up to this threat and fight the necessary "battle of ideas" is a good idea.

Our greatest problem is that after near 60 years most of the world (and much of our internal cultures) don't rmember that we had first to prove that we were the biggest and baddest dog on the block; only then was it possible to begin helping out and handing out to the rest of the world.

We've been on this kick for so long that the original motives and basis for being so damned "nice" are lost on the recipients and donors alike.
