I've sometimes wondered if Ritter is being blackmailed by Saddam in some way, or threatened. Ritter's wife is Chechan, I think, or from somewhere around that area. Perhaps she or her family are in some sort of danger unless Ritter keeps plugging away like this.

Other than that, he could just be a traitor, if none of the other inspectors agree with his comments, and he's doing this for money. I can't see any other reasons than these for what he's doing.

What if Ritter is right and we are all wrong?

That’s the $400,000 question. But thanks for playing, you have won some lovely parting gifts, as well as a free Jane Fonda exercise video.

He really has porked up, hasn't he?

Although he didn't know it at the time, the a$$hole Biden was right anout Ritter; however, his treatment of Ritter at the hearings was unconscionable.

If I were Ritter, I would have let him have it with both barrels like Brendan Sullivan did at the Ollie North hearings.

No one has provided a convincing argument why Scott Ritter should be vilified for preaching a message of restraint. The man is a Marine. He is educated and uses his intelligence with such skill that compliments the Marine Corps reputation for recruiting and promoting such men. Just because Ritter speaks so eloquently against a bloodbath where, no doubt, many of his friends (maybe someone close to you) will get killed is no reason to profane his intentions with name-calling. I believe that people who have fought wars should have the last word on when we war on other people. When combat veterans speak on this issue, all others should pay them proper respect with thoughtful attention.

So much tragedy. This is what our military will do to these people, as we have done in Afghanistan. Children working in factories is not exclusive to Iraq. We are allied with governments, like Russia, who promote these same working conditions in their respective countries.

After a war with Iraq, these people will not be liberated. They will only serve another tyrant.

Ollie North used the money from the weapons sales to fund freedom fighters in Nicaragua and to rescue hostages in Lebanon. Scott bin Ritter recieved money from the enemy to produce propaganda. I stand by my insults, comrade.

And broke the law without seeing the release of a single hostage.

Scott bin Ritter recieved money from the enemy to produce propaganda. I stand by my insults, comrade.

Have you seen the film?

"And broke the law without seeing the release of a single hostage."

The law was passed by a bunch liberal slimeballs who were sympathisers with the Commies who ran Nicaragua. We had a vested interest seeing that both sides would slaughter each other in the Iraq-Iran War. Ollie North tried to save American lives, Scott bin Ritter is a traitor who is assisting America's enemies.

So the executive branch can pick and choose which laws it wants to obey...

By the way, have you seen the film?

"So the executive branch can pick and choose which laws it wants to obey..."

"By the way, have you seen the film?"

Have you ever heard of covert ops? The actions were taken on behalf of America's national security and I believe President Reagan when he said he knew little if anything about Iran-Contra. BTW: No I haven't seen the film, but I know the film was financed by pro-Saddam businessmen and that told me all I wanted to know about the movie. So comrade, I again stand by my words calling Ritter a traitor.

SteveTuck signed up 2002-11-22.

So you must be from DU. Go on back there Comrade Tuck. Disruptors like you are not wanted here. In all of your previous posts, you have done nothing but attack conservatives. You have not once defended a conservative principle. So lay out your credentials as a conservative, comrade and I'll eat humble pie.

Have you ever heard of covert ops?

I will ask you again. Does the president get to pick the laws he wants to obey?

BTW: No I haven't seen the film,

Then how do you know that it is propaganda?

I again stand by my words calling Ritter a traitor.

What law has he broken?

You have not once defended a conservative principle.

How about the principle that the executive branch must obey the constitutional authority of Congress...

"I will ask you again. Does the president get to pick the laws he wants to obey?"

President Reagan had nothing to do with Iran-Contra. Put down your bong and come into the 21st century. We're discussing Iraq and the threat it poses.

"Then how do you know that it is propaganda?"

Put two and two together. Saddam's buddies don't film movies to give an objective view of a situation. Watch Iraqi TV and you'll see what I mean.

"What law has he broken?"

Read the article in the Constitution defining treason. bin Ritter has given aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States by giving anti-American speeches in the Iraqi Parliment. He also has gone national television falsely claiming that the UN inspectors were spies for the CIA and MOSSAD.

Where were you during the Constitutional abuses of the Clinton regime?
