Either they were lying through their teeth, or else the U.S. intelligence is so good that we knew a tape was due to arrive at Al J before they knew it.

Of course the Anglo-Amercian hating kumbya crowd will claim that U.S. Intell knew about the tape because they made the tape in the first place to provide another excuse to invade Iraq. IMOH, the tape is probably as legit as any so-called tape from Al Quieda because they want us to invade Iraq. Why? Because an unstable post war Iraq opens the door to Al Que contol and influence.

I agree with you. Don't get me wrong... I hope we bomb the daylights out of Iraq.. and point to it as an example in our future diplomatic dealings. But this TAPE is ... I don't know.. it's pretty suspicious to me. I guess timing is everything.

I'm sure there are many, many tapes that were pre-recorded based on their plans, which could be played "After the Fact". Clever...NOT.

You have to search for how generic they are.

The fact that we have audio and not video says a lot. This is a man of vanity. If he's not dead (though I think he is) he's terminal.

Two things are going on: 1) the US gov't has decided it is in its interest to pretend Bin Laden is alive, and 2) he clearly is not alive, since no other strategic move available to the Islamofascists would give more of a boost to their cause than to prove it. Since they are creating these con job tapes instead, Bin Laden is clearly dead.

Actually- Powell just outed Al Jazeera as being, if not active, at least supportive of Al Queda- They have the tape, with instructions not to play it until either we attack Iraq, or there is some terrorist attack on us. If it is the latter, it shows that
a) AJ had prior knowledge of the attack
b) Did not tell us anything that could have prevented the attack.

This was just another brilliant move by Bush to show just how far reaching our intelligence is.

Muslim solidarity to defend Iraq against the aggressors.

MSNBC still doesn't say, a man on tape 'claims' to be UBL. They just say, 'new tape from UBL.'
