BUSH SHOULD PUT UP OR SHUTUP ON IRAQ!

This Bush supporter is about to turn. For months we have heard all the valid reasons for ridding thEE world of Sadam Hussein, over and over and over again. Tonight, the word is that Bush will answer press questions on Iraq and, yet again, assure us all that no decision on war has been made. Great! The markets can continue to collapse, anti-war demonstrations go on, Bush's re-elect poll numbers plummet and Wart Hog Helen gets to ridicule Bush some more.

Well I've had it with Bush. The guy really isn't very smart afterall. And that guy Powell of his has actually done the impossible by making Madeleine Albright look competent in comparison. Bush discarded good advice from experts and get's snookered by Powell into going thru the UN, then watches as the French snooker Powell. And the US now has the humiliating task of begging the likes of Angola and Cameroon for approval to defend the country from horrendous attacks. In the meantime, Powell says we can't talk to North Korea as if just talking was synonymous with re-negotiating an agreement. As a result, Korea may start a war and the US foreign policy is the laughing stock of the world.

Enough is enough! Bush should fire Colin Powell, shutup and stay holed up in the white house until he is actually ready to act as tough as he talks. Come out only to announce the invasion of Iraq or its successful disarming by the UN, whichever comes first.

How frustrated were you right after 9/11 to see us do something, anything, to get back at the dirtballs who helped carry out the attacks? I can remember saying on 9/30 that I would have bet a LOT of money that the U.S. would have already wiped Afghanistan off the map by then and that I couldn't believe we hadn't responded. Of course, several days later we started cleaning out the rat's nest in a brilliant, decisive, quick operation. It was worth waiting for then and it's worth waiting for now. I trust GWB and his team to put together a first-class response. The end of Sadaam is closer than we think.

The culprit is not Powell...it was the Dems who demanded cooperation with the UN...FYI...

Bush wins support on Iraq

A White House draft of a congressional resolution authorizing the use of military force against Iraq was met with a decidedly mixed reaction on Capitol Hill, as many rank-and-file Democrats questioned its scope and what they see as a lack of emphasis on international cooperation.

"I think clearly there's been movement that we wanted [at the U.N.]," said Sen. Richard Durbin, D-Illinois. "Now the president sends to Congress this challenge, which basically says, ignore the United Nations, the United States is going to do this alone. I think it's the wrong way to go."

Sen. Carl Levin, D-Michigan, who chairs the Armed Services Committee, said: "I'd like the focus of the resolution to be on urging the U.N. to take action, setting a deadline, an ultimatum to have the very strong inspections, to force inspections and to authorize member nations to use military force to implement that resolution calling for the very strong inspections and disarmament."

And Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-California, said, "The United Nations should be given an opportunity to compel adherence to the 16 or so resolutions in the past which Iraq has effectively not complied with ... maybe some language could be added."

I swear I am going to start making a list of all these hysterical people and post it when the war starts.

We have seen this type in the old movies...the Indians have the wagon train surrounded, Gary Cooper is remaining calm, and some loony settler goes nuts and jumps up screaming, only to take an arrow in the chest.

Or it is a jungle movie, and the natives are surrounding the mission, where a few folks are holed up, and someone starts yelling, "The drums, the drums, I can't take the drums!"

This goes deeper than the UN. The political manuevering was a a suble hint to other countries that claim to be smarter than us to solve the problem. They missed the chance and failed. Our next step was to spell it out for them. They shanked it again. These things take time. I like the idea of having it on the record and written in stone where these countries stand.

My patience has worn very thin. The only hope is that the endless chatter means nothing since the forces were not ready anyhow. When "Go" day arrives, chatter stops.

If they really meant any of this interminable chatter, and if one single U.S. soldier died as a result, I would be chagrinned.

I just want it over..

Further, the fact that Bush 41 and the Toon didn't resolve this when they should have bothers me.

Now I know the whole argument about the UN not giving us the "power" to remove Saddam in the first Gulf War, but when he scudded the Jews and torched the Kuwait oil fields during his retreat he became a war criminal. He should have been gone then.

Further, our pal X42 should have done more than just wasting 4 days worth of million dollar munitions, claiming "victory" and pulling out.

By all right's this shouldn't even be a problem right now, it should be settled business already. I think that adds considerably to the tensions that surround this issue.

You misunderstood me. I am not at all impatient for an attack. I don't want it to start one second sooner than the troops are ready to go. What I am impatient about is the horrible way the process leading up to the war is being handled. I.E. repetitively saying "time is running out" and Powell getting the US caught in a predictable UN quagmire.

You freepers are living in fairyland if you don't see how badly the process is damaging the US, Bush and the republican party.

Oh get over yourself! One post out of 40 is NOT 'some freepers'. You should email your demands to President Bush...and be sure and tell him what an idiot he is...and tell him to start this war NOW to make YOU feel better.

I trust that when the time is right, when we have in place as many resources as necessary in order to minimize the loss of human life, we will disarm Saddam. I further trust that President Bush is much more aware of our readiness than you or I and will make his decisions accordingly.
