ATTENTION BAY AREA FREEPERS!
THE "ANTI-WAR" CROWD IS HOLDING ANOTHER RALLY, SO COME ON DOWN AND JOIN US IN A COUNTER-DEMONSTRATION!
WHERE: Civic Center Plaza. The FRassy Knoll (otherwise known as the Grassy Knoll--on the corner of Carlton B. Goodlett Place and McAllister---where we made a stand last time)
WHEN: Saturday, March 15th at 10am
BRING YOUR SIGNS, FLAG AND PLENTY OF ATTITUDE, 'CAUSE YOUR GONNA NEED IT!
Emergency Anti-War Convergence on the White House. Parallel Convergence and March in San Francisco
Saturday, March 15, 11 a.m. Gather at Civic Center Plaza (Grove and Larkin)
International A.N.S.W.E.R. and other organizations are calling for an Emergency National Anti-War Convergence to TAKE IT TO THE WHITE HOUSE. There will be parallel activities on the West Coast. We also know that there will be March 15 mobilizations in Spain, Greece, and Japan, and we expect demonstrations in a growing number of cities around the world.
Details of the march route are still being negotiated with the city. The March 15 march and rally is being co-sponsored by all the major anti-war coalitions in the Bay Area. This will be a critical date as the Bush administration pushes relentlessly forward with its drive toward war.
We are very happy to announce that one of the keynote speakers on Mar. 15 in San Francisco will be former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney of Georgia, who has been a strong and courageous voice against war and racism.
OH GOODY---EVERYONE'S FAVORITE, CYNTHIA MCKINNEY, WILL BE SPEAKING!
And in both cases off the mark.
Cynthia and Georgia? What a shame!
Okay folks, the 3/15 Counter-Protest Announcement has been made at last! We are cutting it a little close for getting the word out, but I encourage everyone who has the time to call into your local radio stations (KSFO, KFBK, ect) over the next week and just do what you can.
Sorry for the delay, but we were waiting to hear about the date for the N. Cali Rally for America. The official announcement will be made next week, but I can tell you that it's going to take place during the last 2 weeks of March.
So this means that it's gonna be an action-packed month. In fact, our Bay Area Chapter meeting is temporarily on hold, because we've been overtaken by world events!
It's up to each of you to decide how much you want to take part in, but if you're up for a Counter-Protest and a Rally for America all in one month, then let's do it
We'll be bringing several J-E-W-S along, including myself, to welcome Ms. McKinney!
Tuesday 3/11--Lafayette Troop Tribute!
Friday 3/14---Santa Rosa Support the Troops/Counter-Protest!
Saturday 3/15---San Francisco Counter-Demonstration
Later this month: Rally for America!
Never boring around here!
Events are transpiring faster than I can type. The Santa Rosa Rally will have something unique but can't mention it in this post. Don't anyone miss it. We plan to outnumber the Left like they outnumbered us in S.F.
The Lafayette Rally will kick things off from 3-6 p.m.--please make the drive to Lafayette-take Pleasant Hill Rd. exit. There will be a counter rally at the St. Stephens exit in Orinda by the Left from 4-6p.m. Ours is always larger. Let's keep it that way.
San Francisco for the die-hard, passionate, non faint-of-heart.
TO THE LEFT: IT'S ABOUT 9-11, STUPID!
Thanks STL! : )
(If you would like to be added or removed from my San FRancisco Bay Area ping list please let me know. FReep-mail is best. Thanks.)
FReepers, please help get the word out - KSFO Radio Contact Lee and Melanie, Brian Wilson, David Gold and Barbara Simpson.
And, any like-minded organizations you can think of who might like to come out and stand for America.
Drango, can you please get a flyer together like last time? Thanks.
I love the smell of victory in the morning!
