"...there is nothing more frightening than the notion of going to war with Iraq and the prospect of all the innocent lives that will be lost." How utterly simplistic. What about the oppressed Iraqi people, or do the Dixie Chicks, with their Nickelodean Diplomacy, not care?

And with this comment, the Vichy Chicks new European career boomed. However in Boondocks, USA, where most of their fans are, their career is over.

They don't get it, as many Americans still don't get it. Where did these people come from that they are so ignorant of America that they side with the enemy?

A few fans suggested the group change its name to "Terrorist Chicks." That's the most printable of the many, varied name change suggestions that I've seen!

I don't understand why these people, entertainers, cannot realize that the 1st amendmend is a two way street. They can voice their opinion; but be prepared to suffer the consequences. Sheeez...

I've seen "Vichy Chicks" and "Blixie Chicks." Not to mention "Ditsy Chicks"
To: Mad Dawgg
BWHAHAHAHA!! The dixie chicks tried to cross the road but never saw the 18-wheeler of American Patriotism barrelling toward them.
To: TLBSHOW
Some observers supported the Chicks' right to free speech. And hundreds of thousands of patriotic americans also have the free speech right to simply say "we don't like what you are saying and we don't intend to give you our cash so that you have a stage to say it on"
It's called "know your customer" chicks. If you want to cater to the London crowd (I'm sure county is huge there), feel free. If you want American country music fans (who are probably 98% in favor of the war), keep your mouth shut.
I also don't recommend getting up and proclaiming that you've had an abortion.

...and one of the privileges of being an American is you are free to voice your own point of view."Isn't that still true? The only problem for Miss Maines is that other Americans have the right to express their point of view about her comments. But as you point out, they may find Europe more supportive of their idiocy. France would be their best opportunity.

Yah, and we on the other hand are free to express ours... and our view is that you're an idiot and we don't need to spend our money on idiots.
