The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic invites all Freepers and lurkers in good standing, veterans and other patriotic Americans to gather with us in support of our troops at the east front steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. this Sunday, March 23, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for The Patriots Rally for America V.
With American men and women now in harm's way overseas fighting to keep us safe at home and liberate the people of Iraq from the despotic regime of Saddam Hussein, it is important that we send a resounding message of support to them and to those fighting the war on terrorism on the home-front.
This is a family-friendly event!
Bring your American flags and show our troops -- including the many active duty military that may be hard at work at the Pentagon and other places in our immediate community -- that we support and respect their hard work.
Also bring your signs of support for the troops. If you have a family member or loved one now serving - please bring a sign with his or her name and service branch, and your message to your loved one in big, bold letters!
Confirmed speaker list: The Honorable Robert K. Dornan, former Congressman (R-Ca.)
Blanquita Cullum, talk-radio host, The BQ View
James Parmelee, NorthernVirginiaGOP.com
Aziz Al-Taee, Chairman, Iraqi American Council
Kristinn Taylor, D.C. Chapter of Free Republic
(and maybe a few surprise guests...)When: Sunday, March 23, 2003 1 pm to 3 pm.
Where: Lincoln Memorial - east steps, facing the Reflecting Pool and the Washington Monument.
Rules: We have obtained the proper permits for this peaceful rally and we do not expect any counterprotests. As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
Bring: American and Gadsden flags (large and small), along with signs bearing messages supporting our troops, President Bush, America, the liberation of Iraq and the war on terror.
Weather forecast: Mostly sunny, temps in the high 50s.
We had a great rally this last weekend countering the America-hating left. Our efforts received national news coverage which was broadcast and reported to our beloved troops--letting them know that we support them.
Let's do it again! Do it for the Troops!

HEy MUD I just heard on FNC that 2 Iraq Divisons are preparing to surrender. Now that is peace thought strength and a pretty smart move by the division commander. The Iraqi people desire to taste the seeds of freedoms. WHERE are the NAYSAYERS and peaceniks.
GW was right and most of the world was wrong. By the way we are fighting on 2 fronts we launched an offensive in Ashcanistan too. We are going to get OBL Operation Infinite Justice.

Yeee-hah !!! I'm back. And I'm with y'all. All y'all !!! And I'm WITH American troops !! A Southron may, and should be on such a position. After all, we fight against our common enemy, which ye terrorists, ye Saddam's regime and other evil folks are, since their cowardly attacked our blessed Homeland on 09/11/2001. Both flags: of USA and of Dixie should fly next to each other, since now in eternal friendship joint. Our boys and gals on the front are fighting for the whole America, and they come both from North and South. We must combat ye enemies who endanger our American freedom. We should not argue now, my dear compatriots, Southrons and Yankees. It's a battle for a good ol'America, against ye enemies which respect none of our values and liberties. They shown it attacking our Homeland on 09/11/2001. Most of ye Southrons hav' shown ye sym'athy, support and compassion towards their Northern bretren in NYC. For some reasons, I can't come to the Capital at Potomac(Washington DC). But I shall proudly fly two flags next to my house -- The Star-Spangled Banner and The Cross of Ye South, flying next to each other, since now in eternal friendship joint.

TRAVEL DIRECTIONS
The Lincoln Memorial is located on 23rd Street, NW, just against the Potomac River. Its facilities include exhibits, a bookstore, restrooms, and concessions where you'll be able to get things like water, hot dogs, and ice cream. This is a family friendly venue.
By Metro. This is a great location for a rally. Parking is available around the Mall, but limited. Parking near a Metro stop and taking Metro is by far the best option if you live locally. Foggy Bottom Metro station is served by the Blue and Orange lines and you can walk 6 blocks south on 23rd from the stop to get to the Lincoln Memorial. Perhaps a much more attractive option is taking the Metro to the Arlington Cemetary, or parking there -- they have lots of parking -- and then taking the scenic walk across the Memorial Bridge which delivers you promptly to western side of the Lincoln Memorial. For the locals, you can get more info about public transportation http://www.wmata.com The system map can be found here: http://www.wmata.com/metrorail/systemmap.cfm
By car: Interstates 66 and 395 provide access to the Mall from the south. Interstate 495, New York Avenue, Rock Creek Parkway, George Washington Memorial Parkway, and the Cabin John Parkway provide access from the North. Interstate 66, Route 50 and 29 provide access from the West. Routes 50, 1, and 4 provide access from the East. You may want to park in a commercial parking garage north of the mall and then take a lovely walk along the national mall to the west to get to the Lincoln memorial.
Map of site: This pdf map will let you zoom in to see the environs around the Lincoln memorial, which is the center (just to the left and lower) of the map, near the Potomac River. http://www.nps.gov/linc/ppmaps/namamap1.pdf
