Abuse of Caucus [whiner's caucus]
Self | 22 Feb 2011 | Natural Law

Posted on 02/22/2011 2:53:04 PM PST by Natural Law

An alarming trend is developing in the Free Republic Religion Forum in which a caucus identifier is being claimed for non-existent or impossibly defined groups. With the caucuses being self defined we see nonsense like the Sola Scriptura Caucus. Of course it doesn’t mean all Scripture, only the thread initiators or Forum Moderators definition of Scripture. Jews who believe in the Scripture of the Old Testament are excluded. Mormons, Seventh Day Adventists, and Jehovah’s Witnesses are excluded even though they believe in the sufficiency of their own versions of Scripture. The not so transparent purpose of these faux caucuses is clearly to exclude a group of FReepers in a modern day repetition of “Whites Only” and “Irish Need Not Apply” prejudice. If this is allowed to stand what will we see next; caucuses so narrowly defined so as to only include one’s bridge club or to exclude an individual FReeper? How about a caucus designation for everyone but citizens from New York? How about a men’s only caucus? How about a caucus for those of us who drive BMWs? And what is being discussed in these faux caucus threads? Critical doctrinal issues such as ruggedized aircraft, home schooling, and civil unrest in Egypt. Give me a break!

May the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob rebuke such an ignorant perspective.

I am very skeptical of near-death experiences of any kind, by anyone. Here, I found this and this explains my position very well:

Are books such as 90 minutes in Heaven and 23 minutes in Hell biblically based?

Are you a Lady Gaga fan?

As for Jesse, I hope God is merciful on this scam artist/false teacher.

Perhaps you’d benefit from The Lord giving you such a tour.

I’ll ask Him if He’d be willing to oblige.

I guarantee it will take such derision right out of y’all—or anyone—in a flash.

SCREAMING BLOOD CURDLINGLY LOUD:

Never happened.

27 Then he said, 'I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house,
28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.'
29 Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.'
30 And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.'
31 But he said to him,'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.' " (Luke 16)
You’ve been snookered.

It’s sadly comforting when y’all display so brazenly such Biblical ignorance.

You gonna take a personal trip in Jesse DuPeePee’s cocoon with his angel bud?

As my wife says, “You ain’t been had until you’ve been had by a Christian.”

Only in the fantasy world of fundamentalist Futurama is quoting the Bible a sign of ignorance. (BTW, Luke 16 is in the Bible.)

I take your "rebuke" as a badge of honor.

Actually, the classic response goes like this: of course my answer to your post will be the question of the body and blood of Christ. Then you will answer that is literal. And I will ask why the Lamb of God, the sheep, the door, the vine, etc. are all metaphors, but the body and blood are literal. Which will lead to the 'Upon this rock', Peter, popes, keys to the kingdom, etc. which will be met by tradition and doctrines, which will be countered by Sola Scriptura. And so the Carousel of Unity goes around and around. Scraping bottom, tilting to the right, and dragging towards the back.

Seeing what is not there, and denying what is clearly there can never be countered.

What slick use of potty language.

Impressive.

I think I’ll leave your . . . grossly flawed perspective and posts for a while.

They aren’t currently even mildly amusing.

WOW. I'd have to go to the dog pound to see more butt kissing.

Lousy attempt to sidetrack the conversation. I give you Ephesians (the Church is built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets), 1 Timothy (the Church of the living God is the pillar and foundation of truth)and Matthew 16 (the bestowing of the keys to Heaven to Peter) in order to lay out the authority.

You go off into some tirade about the Rock. I will quote my conclusion:

The keys are the final clue. Kings in those times gave the keys to the kingdom to their chief steward who looked after the day to day affairs for them. If the king went on a journey, the steward looked after the kingdom for him until he returned. Thus it is with the Church. They have the God-given authority, as Scripture affirms. The children of the Reformation do not.

And I will reaffirm what Scripture points out. Jesus gave the Church His authority on Earth. The children of the Reformation have none.

I think that you’re getting a tad pudgy around the middle and your roots need touching up. But the nose is positioned where I had imagined it to be.

Just eliminate the Religion Forum altogether. It was a bad idea in the first place, and it has arrived at the place where it was always destined to anyhow.

Where there's life, there's hope.

Certainly. I hope and pray for all Paulicians to reject their pagan ways and return to the Christianity of Jesus Christ, for instance.
