At that point, COULD he choose?
I think not.

I’m not sure what I think of the whole “died, went to hell, came back to life, got saved” scenario, though.

If anyone has biblical support for anything other than “it is appointed to man once to die and then the judgement”, let me know.

“against another person”

is not what you’ll be judged upon.

Nor will your salvation be dependent on the “curve” of whether you’re “better” than others.

1Vike posted that out of concern/love for you.

There is no surer way to arrive in hell than to think you are “good enough” for heaven.

Ya, I saw that road choice too, however he was dead when he saw it, it’s too late at that point.

Don’t take offense Berlin. I saw that too, he’s just making the case on how we’re saved. John tells us if we say we are without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

He’s just making sure you knew about being saved, I don’t know the current state of your relationship with Jesus or anything, but Christians in general are always concerned with those around them.

I must say we don’t get a lot of Mennonite material here on FR!

speaking of the darkness...it has done a masterful job in convincing gullible people like you in the church that Jesus is God, rather than His son and savior. The original sin was wanting to be like God, able to be independent of Him. Now the apostate church has put that upon Jesus. How wicked!

Didn’t post I am not a sinner.

Never met a person who claimed not to be a sinner.

No liberals in your life, eh? I've talked to plenty of people who think they're not sinners; that they're "good people".

I never met a single person in my 49 years who said to me they are not a sinner. Never a single one.

How is “I and the Father are one” an attempt to be “like God”? Jesus was with God in the beginning: “the Word was with God and the Word was God”.

A glorious mystery, no doubt, but true!

Not everything Jesus said are literal, obviously. They are one in intent and spirit. Jesus prayed to his father and the very title of SON denotes subservient. The church is lost...and its leaders are teaching a big lie. Fact.

it has done a masterful job in convincing gullible people like you in the church that Jesus is God, rather than His son and savior.

I'll pray for your eyes to be open. After all even the Jews accused Christ of claiming to be God, and they should know. So why would you then say they did not know what He claimed to be?

here are some verses that back up the truth that Christ is god, one third of the Holy Trinity. I could give more evidence, but your eyes are clouded by your own arrogance, and refusal to read the scriptures as they are given. It takes a lot of twisting of the Scriptures to deny Christ is God.

John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Hebrews 1:1-4 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

John 10:30 - I and [my] Father are one.

John 20:28 - And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

John 8:58 - Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. [ Exodus 3:13-14 Then Moses said to God, "Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, "The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they say to me, "What is His name?' what shall I say to them?" And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, "I AM has sent me to you."' ]

Matthew 1:23 - Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

1 John 5:20 - And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, [even] in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

John 10:31-34 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, "Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?" The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God."

Genesis 1:1 - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Philippians 2:6-7 - Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

I post it only because it’s a good read, but I am not a Mennonite.

Those who know me know that. I could care less who wrote it, although I did give the authors name.

As I said, it is an excellent read, regardless of their belief, or denomination.

I give credit where it’s due.
