LOL.
OP: I was wondering when someone would post about this comment. When I read it, I also thought his analogy fascinating, but to be fair I totally thought he was referring to those terrorizing Catholics who remain faithful to the Catholic Faith of yore come hell or high water.
Haven’t noticed any if the Baptist ladies coming over to our Catholic Church with bombs. They seem to be heavy on dishes involving mayo, while the Lutherans and Methodist bring chicken and green beans.
Seriously, I am Catholic, and this is a great reminder that the Pope is just s man, and fallible except in the narrowest and most limited times.
For example here, I am happy to say he’s being stupid.
Not so sure
You just cant say that, just as you cant say that all Christians are fundamentalists. We have our share of them (fundamentalists). All religions have these little groups, he said.

I suppose during the widely popular Arien heresy the smug prelates spoke much the same about those who refused to follow the new order. So today we who adhere to tradition appear to the Novus Ordies as little fundumentalists groups.
What can you expect from a South American Marxist?
The Church of Rome murdered people for printing the Bible in their own language
Murdered people who wanted to worship as the Bible taught
Murdered people who disagreed with the pope on minor things...
And now the pope prays with Joel Osteen, Rick Warrren and different muslim leaders
And now the Pope says this:
Complete apostasy
Methinks he has his head in the sand...or perhaps in an analogous part of his anatomy.

Shoot for the legs..........
I wonder what the Pope’s FR handle is?
He must be on of the FRoman Catholics!
1) Millions of Catholics live in majority Mohammedan lands.
2) These Catholics live in constant fear of persecution.
3) The pope's statement above is an indirect way of calling out "moderate" Mohammedans, while attempting to push jihadis to the fringes of Mohammedan societies.
The pope's comment regarding "fundamentalist" Christians was very careless and makes it easy to read his statement as moral equivalence.
That is NOT what he did. He apologized for causing a ruckus, but did NOT apololgize for what he said, or say that he was "misunderstood."
“We have our share of fundamentalists” is hardly equating fundies to terrorists. That’s a bit of a stretch, IMO.
after all to some on the board think as a protestant, I am a heretic and will burn in hell for not bowing down to a institution and a mere man...
>> Hes a rock star
He seeks to please man and GOD... sadly, in about that order.
Ref: Galatians 1:10
It's lookin' like you guys are becoming a real minority in your religion...
That was uncalled for.
He needs to issue an apology.
Military, political and civil authorities and religions were controlled by the Catholic religion...For Centuries...
The papal deposing power was the most powerful tool of the political authority claimed by and on behalf of the Roman Pontiff, in medieval and early modern thought, amounting to the assertion of the Pope's power to declare a Christian monarch heretical and powerless to rule.
No stretch at all...The news media as well as muzlim supporters refer to the murderers as radicals and fundamentalists...Buford says his religion has small groups of fundamentalists as well, all in the same context...
