I’ve read it. Weak on character development, plot, and morality.

Unless some thesis can be developed whereby the Jewish and Christian scriptures are wrong, we have no reason to give any credence to the Quran. Uh-oh. They aren't going to take kindly to this statement.

This happens every time I try to read that drivel.

The copies I have seen in Arabic are printed on a soft paper good only for wiping after toilet use.

Much on the order of “Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-tung”, the “little red book” that explained Communism to the Chinese peasants.
Not other catechism was allowed, also much like the Koran, which does not permit any of the followers of Islam to even look at any other “religious” texts, like the Torah or the New Testament.
And certainly not the Book of Mormon.

With no evidence to support such claims, however, the Old and New Testaments in Islamic thought were presumed to have been mysteriously rewritten by Jews and Christians to exclude Muhammads name and teachings that were said to be in the original text from Allah.Yep, they claim the text was "corrupted." As if thousands and thousands of copies were collected for rewrite or destruction with not a single remaining to demonstrate the validity of the above. Not to mention that the dead sea scroll discovery completely blows this out of the water.
Years ago I had an email discussion with a Muslim, basically biblical v Islamic apologetics. The last email he sent was to make this claim - he truly believed it. I pointed out the dead sea scrolls (written and hidden before Islam's inception and the OT's "corruption," yet the scrolls had no mention of Mohammed et al whatsoever but rather completely validated the current OT texts) and never heard from him again.

Will (voluntarism) not reason was at the basis of everything. If Allah was not able to contradict himself, he would not be all powerful. We would blaspheme if we denied him this absolute power. I think that statement pretty much sums it up.

Good comparison. The Koran dictates minute details on conduct and processes for everyday life and government.
I did not know that the Koran discouraged or forbid the reading of The Bible. Do you have a reference for that specification? I am curious to see how they spin it, because much of what I have seen from the Koran discussed by Muslims has “spin” attached to it.
I have come to believe that “spin” is simply Taqiyya, or lying to advance the cause of Islam.
