Yesterday, the alternative archaeology group Emek Shaveh published its most recent report on the extent to which Elad, the ultra-nationalist settler organization, has control over the presentation, excavation and development of archeology in Jerusalem, specifically in occupied East Jerusalem. The report outlines each of Elad’s six sites, emphasizing that “visitors are told an exclusive story of Jewish heritage and Israeli connection to the site, whilst other periods and cultures are almost entirely ignored.” The report is welcome, as this time last month Israeli and Zionist media spun itself into a frenzy when a French consul general, Frédéric Desagneaux, dared to...

European Union officials are examining legal options to side-step a possible British veto on the bloc’s long-term budget, in a bid to weaken Prime Minister David Cameron's trump card in the talks, diplomats said. Britain is one of several net contributors including Germany and France demanding deep reductions to EU spending plans worth more than €1 trillion between 2014-2020, which they say are at stark odds with austerity-driven spending cuts at home. Under pressure from Euroskeptics in his own party to deliver a real terms cut, officials believe Cameron is the most likely to make good on a threat to...

ST. LUCIE COUNTY CANVASSING BOARD ORDERS RETABULATION OF ALL EARLY VOTES IN ALLEN WEST RACE Jason Howerton The St. Lucie County Canvassing Board has ordered the retabulation of all early votes in the highly contested congressional race between Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) and Democrat Patrick Murphy, according to Jeffrey Scott Shapiro, a volunteer lawyer for the West campaign. The board voted 2-1 in favor of recounting the votes. “This retabulation of all early votes as the Supervisor of Elections originally planned is a victory for democracy,” Shapiro told TheBlaze. “This restores some level of trust and public confidence in the...

An angry statement just sworn by the lead investigator of a team assigned to review Barack Obama’s birth certificate says Hawaii officials – who are Democrats like Obama – are using “elaborate non-cooperation” to conceal birth records from law enforcement and the public. Zullo, a seasoned sleuth who heads the team deputized by Joe Arpaio, recently re-elected sheriff of Maricopa County, Ariz., fingers Hawaii’s governor, deputy attorney general and health department chiefs as obstructing justice. Zullo’s affidavit charges these officials are “hiding” original birth records, thwarting the posse’s hunt for those who forged the document at the White House website....

Although the robot's cameras have yet to catch sight of them, it seems whirlwinds of dust have been skirting around the six-wheeled vehicle. From the data gathered by Curiosity's meteorological station, scientists think dust-devils may even have run over the mobile laboratory. It is not entirely unexpected. Vortices of dust whipped up by the wind have been pictured by previous Mars rovers. "A dust-devil looks essentially like what you would expect from the movies - a tiny tornado that is lifting dust," explained Manuel de la Torre Juarez of Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and a scientist on the Rover...

The Lubbock Radisson will be laying off 36 full-time and part-time employees soon. Radisson Lubbock manager Shana Statler said the layoffs are effective Nov. 25, then came back to say “we are not ready to release that information yet. The general manager will release that information Monday.” But Danny Soliz, Director of Business Development for WorkForce Solutions of the South Plains, said he was contacted by a representative of the Radisson Corporate office Wednesday for the purpose of job placement for the laid off employees. Soliz said that the layoffs are corporate-mandated, and will be permanent. Lubbock Mayor Glenn Robertson...

The Leonid Meteor Shower 2012 is set to peak on Saturday, Nov. 17. Skies are looking like they'll cooperate as the Leonid meteor shower gets under way. Space.com has a number of tips for watching the Leonids. The site also has some spectacular Leonids photos. And here's a Youtube video of the Leonid meteor shower. The show follows some nice shows by the Taurids Meteor Shower earlier this month, and the spectacular Perseids Meteor Shower, which wowed gazers in August. Monrovia resident and JPL astronomer Jane Houston Jones doesn't expect the shower to be visible in the Los Angeles area...

EXCLUSIVE / The US is considering a funnel of substantive elements of the Doha Climate Summit away from the UN framework and into the Major Economies Forum (MEF), a platform of the world’s largest CO2 emitters, EurActiv has learned. Since 1992, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has provided an umbrella for talks to curb global greenhouse gas emissions, and on 26 November, will host the COP18 Climate Summit in Qatar. But it has been confirmed to EurActiv that Washington is increasingly looking to shift policy action to the MEF, whose members account for some 85% of...

The BBC has apologized to the chief rabbi, Jonathan Sacks, after Radio 4’s Today presenter Evan Davis asked him a question about the violence in Gaza without telling him he was live on air. When Sacks finished his Thought for the Day on Friday morning, Davis asked him to comment on the Gaza situation before he left the studio. Sacks, seemingly unaware that he was live, said “I think it’s got to do with Iran, actually”, before Davis’ co-presenter Sarah Montague whispered: “We, we’re live.” …

How do you know when government is broken and rife with incompetence? A good indicator could be when Federally managed workers with the Federal Emergency Management Agency are lining up for food handed out by an offshoot of the Occupy Wall Street movement, Occupy Sandy. Last week, FEMA shut down its New York centers set up to respond the devastation caused by superstorm Sandy because of… bad weather. This left a disaster aid void that was filled by independent volunteer groups, including Occupy Sandy. Many residents in the region reported feeling abandoned by the Federal helpers sent to aid them....

In the last week, it is almost as if the entire American moral landscape has been turned upside down in eerie fashion — in matters that vastly transcend fornication and adultery. The Petraeus-gate matter is the stuff of tabloids now; but soon the real issues relating to when and what Eric Holder knew, and by extension the president, and how exactly Benghazi (the crime of indifference to the besieged, the cover-up of the truth, the actual mission of our consulate and annex) fits into this labyrinth of deceit, both petty and fundamental, may overshadow the present sensationalism. Nothing seems real...

In the letter, Priebus says more than 130 members have committed to voting for his re-election, which suggests he has the chairmanship locked up for another term. Under party rules, 85 votes are needed to claim victory. “I am humbled by the over 130 RNC Members who I have talked to who have pledged their support and public endorsement for me to continue on as Chairman so we can finish the job that we started and continue to grow our Party,” Priebus writes Read more: http://dailycaller.com/2012/11/16/reince-priebus-to-run-again-for-rnc-chairman/#ixzz2CRRBKCUU

It seems as though the Twinkie may be a new type of currency as you can break them down into smaller denominations, they are finite and collectible. I went on Ebay to see about buying some. I saw some of the bids were up to the $20.00 level. This is from an ACTUAL LISTING: "My son and I cornered the market on these Twinkies at our local grocery store and purchased all of the remaining Twinkies off the shelves this Friday (November 16th 2012). This is a full, unopened box of Twinkies. Many will buy the last remaining Twinkies to...

NEVADA CITY (CBS13) – A police chief says he’s found a one-of-a-kind way to manage a growing problem in his city, and it’s putting the homeless on the hot seat. A new law would give Nevada City the power to hand out permits to a small group of homeless, which would give them permission to sleep in public. While the new ordinance would give some homeless a place to stay, it would tell others, mostly the troublemakers and the criminals, to stay away. “I come down here every fall,” said Bob Barton, who chooses to be homeless in Nevada City....

An Israeli Defense Force spokesman said Friday that a Hamas militant program to build and launch drone aircraft has been destroyed. Speaking on Israeli television, an IDF spokesman said that for the past few months Israel has been monitoring Hamas' attempt to build a drone fleet. Black-and-white video released by the IDF shows a strike on a Hamas drone being tested at Khan Yunis in Gaza. In a Twitter message the IDF said the video shows "what that program once looked like."

With the election over and Obama reelected, repealing the law is not going to happen over the next four years. So 30 Republican governors will have to make a decision about whether they want to help the federal government implement Obamacare, or keep the onus on the Obama administration.
