'Vulcan' could be the name of Pluto's recently discovered moons. The name, which Star Trek fans will know as Spock's home planet, is currently leading an online poll which could decide one of the two 20-30km moons discovered by the Hubble telescope between 2011 and 2012.

ST. LOUIS (WFIE) - Some women in St. Louis are ready to take aim and fire if confronted by an attacker, but their weapon of choice isn't a gun. Instead, they're turning to a common household product to protect themselves. It's barely seven bucks, but it makes Joy Gridnick Christensen feel a whole lot safer. "And we keep it right here so if you came to the counter with the cash register I would just get this on you and zap you right in the face," said Christensen. As owner of the Fountain on Locust, she's armed all her employees...
  • F-22’s Human Interface Kills Humans, Then Lands Them Safely

Think Windows 8 is a usability nightmare? Two pilots of the infamously expensive F-22 fighter jet recently went on 60 Minutes to describe how this “phenomenal, phenomenal machine” poisons its pilots’ air supply in the course of normal flight. But the plane is also smart enough to land itself with no help from its passed-out pilot. This is UX design by way of Brazil: the human interface is so bad that it actively tries to kill you the entire time you’re using it, and so good that it can deliver your comatose body back to safety with no help from...

Guest Post by Mara Zebest A video posted at the end of 2012 (a couple of months back) is gaining some steam now due to the current gun debate. A Facebook posting offers the following overview: You will LOVE this video! Share it if you want MORE people (including policemen) to understand this! Watch what happens when a policeman illegally stops a law student for carrying a gun… and the law student schools him on how he’s broken the law.

A recently issued report by the Government Accountability Office says that the federal government is on a financially unsustainable course. The debt is so large that the anticipated annual interest payments are expected to exceed the economy’s rate of growth. The government would have to run annual budget surpluses just to maintain its current debt to GDP ratio. Despite all the publicity being given to the so called draconian cuts envisioned by the sequester, there are no actual cuts to spending. At best, only the rate of growth in spending would be slowed, but not by enough to generate a...

I am fed up with, and don't even go to, a number of websites that make it impossible to close their pop-ups--I mean there isn't even a button to do so--or else, when you close the pop-up, an entirely new, screen-filling WINDOW opens. Townhall, CanadaFreePress, NRO, NewsMax, and many others are guilty of this kind of aggression. I'm sick of it. I never even look at what they are hawking, and now, I won't click any links on FR to these sites until I hear that they've cleaned up their act.

    Fair Test ^ | 19 February 2013 | Massachusetts Professors and Researchers
There has been a ground swell of opposition to the overuse and misuse of standardized testing across the United States. This includes statements from more than 670 Texas school boards, nearly one-third of all New York State principals, and hundreds of organizations and thousands of individuals who have endorsed the National Resolution on High-Stakes Testing. Against this backdrop, two significant statements have come from groups of educators and researchers in Chicago, Georgia and New York.We applaud these actions and have come together in solidarity with their efforts. We respectfully present this statement to the Massachusetts Commissioner of Education, the Secretary...

The FALSE POPE – Saint Hildegard Forewarned is forearmed! Saint HILDEGARD of BINGEN (d. 1179), the newest Doctor of the Church, wrote that when the new Pope is elected immediately before the Antichrist, a cardinal will kill the elected pope before he is crowned through jealousy, he wishing to be Pope himself. Then when the other cardinals elect the next Pope this cardinal will proclaim himself (anti) Pope, and two-thirds of the Christians will go with him. She notes that this Antipope as well as the Antichrist are descendents from the tribe of Dan. If this private revelation of St....

  • Second Amendment defended by Supervisors in El Dorado and Siskiyou Counties in California

There is a groundswell of support for the Second Amendment across America, yet the media has given it almost no coverage. El Dorado and Siskiyou Counties Boards of Supervisors have now both passed a resolution in support of the Second Amendment. Have you heard about any of this? Even the local papers in Siskyou and El Dorado counties refused to carry the story when their own Boards of Supervisors passed these resolutions. The media is spiking the story. Perhaps they hope they can stop the groundswell of support for the Second Amendment by censorship.

You are here: Home > Prophecy: What Lies Ahead Prophecy: What Lies Ahead by Shoebat Foundation on FEBRUARY 23, 2013 in BLOG, GENERAL By Walid Shoebat The U.S. and Israel are concerned about Iran’s Uranium Enrichment; Iran experiments with Duetrium, Brillium and Tritium – agents that are only used to detonate a Nuclear bomb. They have no waste facilities and it’s like the 9/11 hijackers learning how to take off but have no interest in learning how to land. However, Israel and the U.S. cannot afford attacking Iran who will blockade the Hormuz. I was right all along; no attack...

"Homosexuality is incompatible with the priestly vocation. Otherwise, celibacy itself would lose its meaning as a renunciation. It would be extremely dangerous if celibacy became a sort of pretext for bringing people into the priesthood who don't want to get married anyway," the pope said. The pope cited a 2005 Vatican document that drew a sharp line against priestly ordination of homosexuals. He said the document emphasized that homosexual candidates cannot become priests because their sexual orientation interferes with "the proper sense of paternity" that belongs to the priesthood. The pope said it was important to select priestly candidates very...

    Confounded Interest ^ | 02/24/2013 | Anthony B. Sanders
The rhetoric about the sequester is mind numbing. To listen to analysts and politicians, the sequester will be like The Titanic striking an iceberg all over again. President Obama warns of thousands of teachers being laid off, beef prices skyrocketing because FDA inspectors will be laid off, etc., etc. As Bill Murray said in Ghostbusters, “Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria…” Absolutely savage spending cuts. But seriously, can you spot the absolutely savage budget cuts that will cause the mass hysteria? It is almost unnoticeable among the leviathan Federal budget that only keeps growing. Another view of...

I cannot overestimate the fearless excellence of M. Stanton Evans' work as a historian, and, I am fortunate to say, mentor. His 2007 book Blacklisted by History is not only a shattering revision of half a century of lies about Joseph McCarthy and "McCarthyism" -- and, by extension, obfuscation about the successful penetration and subversion of the US government -- it is also an exercise in courage, in confronting a false and crippling consensus with an unshakeable dedication to fact and logic. On a personal note, the book served me as a rosetta stone by which I was able to...

Check out the video, the engine is small, model airplane size via the use of the propeller to give it a load, but it runs.Wankels are notorious for lack of thermal efficiency, but to keep all the heat in and turn it into motion via ceramics could be a game changer.Think about it;* Omnivorous* Smooth* Small in size.* It is uncooled, but is it unlubricated (?)
