Untrammeled hubris. This week, Newsweek accused a company controlled by Donald Trump of either doing, or attempting to do, business in Fidel Castro’s communist Cuba. The story is still shaking out and, so far, Trump’s campaign has not commented. I won’t sugar coat it. If it’s true, it’s going to be a problem for the Donald. However, the fact that Hillary Clinton has decided to pounce on the story is absolutely laughable. Check out this clip, where she accuses Donald Trump of being a scofflaw who puts his private financial concerns ahead of the nation’s welfare.
  • Woman Charged After Releasing Crickets On Subway Car

A woman has been charged after letting crickets and worms loose on a D Train in what she said was a piece of performance art. Actress Zaida Pugh was charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment, among other counts. She is accused of causing panic by setting the insects and worms free inside a subway car on Wednesday of last week. Pugh’s stunt freaked out a lot of straphangers. In the chaos, someone pulled the emergency brake and the train came to a screeching halt on the Manhattan Bridge, where it ended up stuck for half an hour. Passenger Ezra Mechaber tweeted:...

Attorney General Bill Schuette released an official legal opinion Wednesday that schools operated by the reconstituted Detroit school district may be closed due to poor academic performance. Attorney General spokesperson Andrea Bitely confirmed that the opinion is binding on state agencies. Schuette's opinion rebuffs a contrary legal opinion Gov. Rick Snyder had endorsed. “The law is clear: Michigan parents and their children do not have to be stuck indefinitely in a failing school,” Schuette said in a press release. “Detroit students and parents deserve accountability and high performing schools. If a child can’t spell opportunity, they won’t have opportunity.” Senate...

Hillary Clinton announced Friday that she wants to enlist 5 million new volunteers into a “national service reserve” aimed at 18- to 30-year-olds. “What if we strengthen the culture of service in America? So it wasn’t just something we did one day a year, but it became a regular part of our lives,” she asked in a Florida rally on the topic of national service Friday. The former secretary of state argued that her volunteer plan would help combat growing self-segregation in America, where people surround themselves with people who think, talk, look and read the same news as them....

iPhones, iPads and laptops were severely damaged as the man used a metal ball to crack the screens in a shop within a French shopping centre VIDEO This was the moment a vandal calmly walked into an Apple store and began smashing iPhones, iPads and laptops with a metal ball. The man, dressed in shades and wearing a backpack, was filmed as he walked from one tech stand to the next in a French shop. He can be seen picking up iPhones , placing them on the counter then bringing a metal pétanque ball crashing down on the screen. As...

For discussion. What does the "legalization" of marijuana usage really entail? Do the breadth of laws related to this expand or contract? Do people still violate marijuana-related laws? Are children affected? Do more people become uses who were not before the law change? Must requirements for professional organization membership change in response to such laws?

By 61% to 27%, Americans who tuned in to Monday night's presidential debate believe Hillary Clinton, rather than Donald Trump, did the better job. Her 34-percentage-point lead is among the more robust victories presidential candidates have earned in Gallup's post-debate polls stretching back to 1960, on par with Bill Clinton's debate wins over Bob Dole in 1996. However, as the record shows, the winner of the first debate does not necessarily win the next debate, or the election. .....John Kerry was the perceived winner of all three debates against George W. Bush in 2004, including by 32 points in the...

If it were Pence at the top I'd give $1000. If Trump loses it will not be the end of the world but he will have himself to blame. He needs to win big. By giving a hundred bucks I can absolve myself of my share of the blame if he loses. He can come up with the rest. This election will not whip me into a frenzy like it does with the loony left. They enjoy being played and it will get much worse in the coming weeks. We have to count on the wisdom of the American people....

The Wall Street Journal has a shocking report that adds fuel to the fire over the $1.7 billion in cash paid to the Iranians to get the hostages released. On the same day the cash payment arrived in Tehran, the U.S. secretly agreed to back a U.N. effort to lift sanctions on two Iranian banks accused of assisting Iran's ballistic missile program.

I realize my biases probably keep me from assessing debates as objectively as some, but I still must dissent a bit from the conventional wisdom on Monday's Trump-Clinton contest. First, as anyone who has consistently read my column knows, I was an ardent supporter of Ted Cruz's and was often critical of Donald Trump, particularly about his debate performances. But Trump won the Republican nomination, and like many others, I have had to regroup and shift my allegiances. I am now going to vote for Trump -- irrespective of my sincere criticisms of him during the primaries -- without hesitation,...

A series of quakes under the Salton Sea may be a signal that the San Andreas Fault is on the verge of buckling. For the next few days, the risk of a major earthquake along the fault is as high as 1 in 100. Which, holy crap. The United States Geological Survey has been tracking a series of earthquakes near Bombay Beach, California. This “earthquake swarm” is happening under the Salton Sea, and over 140 events have been recorded since Monday September 26. The quakes range from 1.4 to 4.3 in magnitude, and are occurring at depths between 2.5 to...

Apple’s iPhone 7 is claimed to be IP67 rated, making it suitable for water resistance at a depth of 1m for up to thirty minutes. That’s great if you happen to drop your iPhone in the bath, or for some reason, feel the need to reply to emails in the shower, but there will always be someone who takes things a little bit further.Perhaps too far, in fact, but it usually makes for great entertainment when they do. So when we heard about one YouTube taking an iPhone 7 for scuba diving, our ears pricked up.The hugely unscientific water resistance...
  • 'His Majesty': Student single-handedly defeats an army of gender neutral activists

When future generations read about the “Great Gender Pronoun Wars” of the early twenty-first century, they will most certainly learn of Grant Strobl – a noble and mighty king. “His Majesty” is an unlikely title for a 21-year-old political science major from Grosse Pointe, Michigan. In less than 24-hours, the brave conservative single-handedly defeated an army of gender neutral activists at the University of Michigan. Think David versus a gender confused Goliath. The University of Michigan recently announced a new initiative to allow students to select their preferred gender pronouns through an online service. It was designed as a way...

A coin flipping scam to beat our schoolmates out of their lunch money Although Dean and I were only in junior high school, we’ d already acquired hoodlum habits. Convinced that doing wrong was easier than doing right — and more fun — we devised a coin flipping scam to beat our schoolmates out of their lunch money. Operating on the five-flip, odd-man-wins-all principle, we two con boys lured suckers in and contrived to have our coins land on heads and tails, thus insuring we’d win the third guy’s money.

Hillary Clinton’s newest presidential campaigner and Donald Trump’s former Miss Universe has another dirty little secret: an x-rated sex tape. News broke earlier this week that Alicia Machado was linked to a brutal attempted murder, what else don’t we know about this beauty queen? ... Hillary Clinton failed to mention any of this information while bringing up Machado as her new supporter at the first presidential debate.
  • New Experimental Army Rifle Uses "Telescoped" Ammunition

    09/30/2016 10:12:02 AM PDT · by Rio · 22 replies
Defense contractor Textron just unveiled a new rifle at the Modern Day Marine conference. Designed to use so-called "telescoped" ammunition, the new rifle promises a harder-hitting, lighter bullet for America's ground troops to fire. Whether the U.S. military is ready to embrace all the change a new rifle and ammunition would bring remains to be seen. Traditional bullet cartridges have a bullet seated roughly halfway inside a brass shell casing, with gunpowder inside the casing. By contrast, the new rifle uses a 6.5-millimeter polymer-cased telescoped bullet. Telescoped rounds feature a bullet completely encased in a polymer shell, like a shotgun,...
