U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan said he will not support a resolution to censure President Donald Trump over his comments following a white supremacist rally in Virginia, but said Trump “messed up” by saying “both sides” were to blame for violence and that there were “very fine people” among those marching to protect Confederate statues. Ryan made the comments during a town hall Monday night organized by CNN in his Wisconsin congressional district, after being asked whether he would back the resolution that comes following Trump’s comments about the rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. The question came from Rabbi Dena Feingold,...

Ukraine's arms firms walk tightrope between Kiev and Moscow Thomas Grove 8 MIN READ KRAMATORSK Ukraine (Reuters) - In quiet defiance of a promise by Kiev's pro-European government to cut arms ties with Moscow, a state-owned defense firm in eastern Ukraine has vowed to work around the clock to fill every Russian order it gets. As for many of Ukraine's defense firms, the stakes are high for Yuzhmash, an industrial behemoth that was so jealously guarded by the Soviet Union that the nearby city of Dnipropetrovsk was closed to foreigners until the bloc split apart. Now, in the face of...

OK, we all know of PCH. Been around forever. I just got a call which said I won. Kinda of a long call. To the point. They/he said I needed to wire $45 to an individual in Star City, Arkansas to pay for taxes. Now was expecting a lot lot more to pay for taxes, but it was only $45. For just $45 I'm half inclined to wire the money. Anybody hear about this scam? One the one hand she wore@$%^#$^#$^ wait a minute,,,,, It just seems a complete waste of time to make a phone call for just $45.

The University of Michigan’s Delta Sigma Phi chapter announced Saturday that it canceled a “Nile”-themed party after the president of the school’s Egyptian Student Association criticized the fraternity on social media. The party urged students to “honor our Egyptian roots and join us on the night of September 1st to celebrate our newly built pyramid” and to “come to [the party] as a mummy, Cleopatra or King Tut,” according to a now-deleted Facebook event page, The Michigan Daily reported.

An Idaho state representative says it’s “plausible” that the deadly violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, earlier this month was orchestrated to make President Trump look like a racist. State Rep. Bryan Zollinger, a Republican, on Thursday shared an article on Facebook by American Thinker, titled, “Charlottesville and Its Aftermath: What if It Was a Setup?” The article suggests, without evidence, that former President Barack Obama, Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, Charlottesville Mayor Michael Signer, and billionaire investor George Soros could somehow be connected in planning and orchestrating the clashes in Charlottesville, which turned deadly on Aug. 12 after a reported Nazi sympathizer...

President Trump’s “America First” base was the biggest loser of Trump’s speech on Afghanistan Monday night, and many quickly expressed their disappointment at the business-as-usual address from the president who had once promised to limit American intervention abroad and focus on nation-building at home. Trump’s speech, in which he pledged to increase the number of troops in the 16-year-war, was the first since the departure of Chief Strategist Steve Bannon and confirmed the fears of many on the right that without a strong nationalist voice in the West Wing, the President would revert to the same old fare that Americans...

Was There an Eclipse on Good Friday? Msgr. Charles Pope • August 21, 2017 • With the solar eclipse that occurred Monday, it occurred to me to consider the darkening of the sun that occurred when Jesus was on the Cross. Though some wish to explain it scientifically (as an eclipse), there may have been more at work than mere astronomy. In Luke 23:44, we read, It was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour (i.e., from noon until 3:00 PM).Although this seems to describe a solar eclipse, it isn’t...

A Canadian university professor ignited controversy by refusing to use gender-neutral pronouns. Is he a villain or a victim? University of Toronto psychology professor Jordan Peterson had enough of what he saw as a campus culture where "social justice warrior, left-wing radical political activists" ran rampant. In September he released a video lecture series taking aim at political correctness. He zeroed in on Canadian human rights legislation that prohibits discrimination based on gender identity or expression. Dr Peterson was especially frustrated with being asked to use alternative pronouns as requested by trans students or staff, like the singular 'they' or...

When a neo-Nazi psychopath plowed his car into a crowd of Leftist protesters in Charlottesville, the Left saw a golden opportunity to use the moment as its Reichstag Fire, and indulge its increasingly obvious authoritarian tendencies. But when they came after Jihad Watch, they overreached. On Saturday afternoon, the Soros-funded hard-Left website ProPublica published a hit piece calling upon PayPal and other new media giants to block Jihad Watch and other groups that have been defamed by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) as "hate groups." ProPublica's Lauren Kirchner complained that Jihad Watch's "designation as a hate site hasn't stopped...

The ACLJ says it will also ask the Inspector General investigate whether there was coordination between the FBI and DOJ with regard to the meeting, based on the onslaught...

Remember this list for the next time somebody on Twitter, Facebook, or at your next family reunion starts spouting off about how Trump, conservatives, American nationalists, etc. "support Nazis" or "are Nazis." Here's a complete (more or less, since it's always growing) list of everyone which the SPLC, ADL, antifas, BLM, and many in the "mainstream" Democrat Party and the MSM consider to be "Nazis" or "hate groups" or "white supremacists." Chances are, YOU are on this list somewhere. This list comes from basically just everything I've personally seen on social media and other internet outlets since the Charlottesville rally...

Three Charlottesville residents are facing misdemeanor charges after Monday evening’s raucous City Council meeting that was taken over by those demanding answers for the city’s handling of the Aug. 12 Unite the Right rally. Donna Gasapo Gray, 43, was charged with disorderly conduct. Two others, Mark Heisey, 30, and Sara Michel Tansey, 29, were chared with obstruction of justice. The Charlottesville City Council voted unanimously early Tuesday morning to cover the city’s statues of Confederate Gens. Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson in black fabric, which will represent the city's mourning of Heather Heyer. Heyer was killed earlier this...

Imagine someone remotely controlling your brain, forcing your body’s central processing organ to send messages to your muscles that you didn’t authorize. It’s an incredibly scary thought, but scientists have managed to accomplish this science fiction nightmare for real, albeit on a much small scale, and they were even able to prompt their test subject to run, freeze in place, or even completely lose control over their limbs. Thankfully, the research will be used for good rather than evil… for now. The effort, led by physics professor Arnd Pralle, PhD, of the University at Buffalo College of Arts and Sciences,...

All he was trying to do was go to work. In the minutes that ticked by in the 8 a.m. hour on Monday morning, Judge Joseph J. Bruzzese Jr. was walking through the narrow alley in the shadow of the Jefferson County courthouse when a man got out of his car in the nearby bank parking lot and opened fire. Police say Bruzzese returned fire, and a nearby probation officer stepped in and ultimately killed the suspect. Another man who was with the attacker, sitting in the car with him, was taken into custody. The majestic Jefferson County courthouse on...

I have not become the King's First Minister in order to preside over the liquidation of the British Empire," said Winston Churchill to cheers at the Lord Mayor's luncheon in London in November 1942. True to his word, the great man did not begin the liquidation. When his countrymen threw him out in July 1945, that role fell to Clement Attlee, who began the liquidation. Churchill, during his second premiership from 1951-1955, would continue the process, as would his successor, Harold Macmillan, until the greatest empire the world had ever seen had vanished. While its demise was inevitable, the death...
