It is customary when a newspaper makes an after-publication correction or change to an article for it to notify readers that an alteration has taken place. Some time after the Washington Post published a 5000-word hit piece on Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney Thursday, a key edit was made to the article without such a notification.

Former Massaschusetts Governor Mitt Romney has opened a widened lead on President Barack Obama. Battered by poor economic news, the President has dipped, while Romney is surging on new GOP unity. While still early in the race, this is good news for the Republican nominee. This new poll comes to us from Rasmussen, which is the most reliable of the major pollsters. This also comes as Romney has had some success against Obama in the polls so far. This, however, is the largest yet. Romney: 50% Obama: 43% Other/don't know: 7% This is more good news for the Romney campaign....

On the “Tonight Show” Jay Leno told Rick Santorum that his endorsement (that‘s what we’re calling it) of Mitt Romney seemed “kind of tepid,” given that it was sent out in an email at 11 p.m. Monday. “I think we just needed some time,” Santorum said. “It was a rough and tumble campaign. I can‘t say that it would have been an easy thing the next day to turn around and say ’oh you know, lets just go forward.’ It was tough. So I wanted an opportunity to sort of think about it a little bit… Over the weekend I...

Archeologists have unearthed what they say is the oldest known version of the Mayan calendar and one that doesn't "end" with the Earth's destruction later this year. Yeah, you're welcome. According to The Washington Post's Brian Vastag, researchers excavating the "lost" city of Xultún in present-day Guatemala discovered new astronomical tables carved into the wall of a "1200-year-old residential building." Much like the Maya codices that conspiracy theorists say predict an end-of-the-world date in December 2012, the tables chart planetary movements, moon and star patterns, and can predict the positions of celestial bodies thousands of years into the past and...

While the White House and its media water-carriers try to distract the American public with gay-marriage talk and half-century-old tales of Mitt Romney's prep school pranks, the inconvenient truth remains: President Obama is responsible for perpetrating jaw-dropping, job-killing scientific fraud. And his minions are still trying to cover it up. New internal e-mails disclosed by the House Natural Resources Committee this week show that a supposedly exculpatory report on the administration's doctored drilling moratorium analysis — issued by the Department of Interior's Inspector General's office — was itself incomplete, misleading and unsubstantiated. Even more damning, the documents reveal that...

Little happens by accident in the Obama White House, or the Obama reelection campaign for that matter -- if there even is a difference between the two. And the dramatic decision by the president to come out Wednesday in support of same-sex marriage is no exception. Contrary to what many in the news media would have us believe, the decision was carefully planned and timed...

If this mandate can be federalized, via a federal constitutional amendment that says that marriage shall only be between one man and one woman, then why did RNC head Reince Priebus say on Andrea Mitchell Reports the following: "Governor Romney and the Republican Party have been pretty clear, marriage is between one man and one woman. We believe ultimately that you can't federalize that kind of mandate, which is why we believe that individual states can make that decision on their own." If Romney had not signed the pledge some time back that called for a federal constitutional amendment that...

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., indicated that President Obama's support for gay marriage is worth any electoral reversals that Democratic Party might sustain as a result. "The statement that the president made was something that was the right thing to do for the country; it filled my heart with joy," Pelosi told reporters today. "We come here to do a job for the American people, not to hold a job . . . It's more important than any political consequences."

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: You know what this is? There is gonna be a big bash, a $40,000 a plate fundraiser at Clooney's house tonight in Hollywood. You know what's gonna happen? Obama's gonna get there, and all these people are gonna see him speak, and they're gonna applaud him, "Mr. President, guts, courage." Nothing's changed. In fact, Obama hasn't even signed the nondiscrimination executive order. He hasn't even signed it. And this is something that gay rights groups have been pushing, and he's refused to sign it. He continues to refuse to sign it. When it comes time to put...

It’s no secret that one of the largest blocs of people pressing for so-called “gun control” is the culturally (aka not-so-religious) American Jewish community. This confounds many observers who would expect that Jews, with such a stunning history of oppression and murder by humanity’s villains, would cling tenaciously to personal firearms and the ability to protect themselves as the Hebrew Scriptures instruct. In reaction to the Holocaust, American Jews adopted the phrase “Never Again!” If actions mean anything, they don’t believe it. That’s for someone else to do. How do Jews expect to put teeth behind the words “Never Again!”...

Obama, Holder silent as Brian Terry memorial act unanimously passes House, SenateBy Matthew Boyle - The Daily Caller – 3 hrs ago President Barack Obama maintains silence on the Brian A. Terry Memorial Act that passed the Democratic-controlled Senate unanimously on Tuesday evening. The Republican-controlled House passed it unanimously in December. Drug cartel members used guns the Obama administration allowed to fall into their hands via Operation Fast and Furious to murder Terry, a Border Patrol agent, on Dec. 15, 2010. Representatives for the White House didn’t answer The Daily Caller’s requests for comment about the act that passed both...

The House Wednesday evening voted overwhelmingly to prevent the Justice Department from using taxpayer funds to lie to Congress. The vote came in a Wednesday evening series of amendments to a bill, H.R. 5326, funding the Justice Department for 2013. Members approved the language in a 381-41 vote; all 41 "no" votes came from Democrats, although 142 Democrats voted with Republicans in support of the amendment. The vote reflects the ongoing frustration Republicans — and apparently some Democrats — have with Attorney General Eric Holder. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) offered the novel funding limitation amendment earlier in the day. The amendment...

In an interview in 2009 with NBC's Matt Lauer, President Obama said “I will be held accountable...If I don't have this done in three years, then there's going to be a one-term proposition.” Unfortunately for the President, those words could come back to haunt him. The most recent jobs data showed a weak “jobs created” figure of only 115,000 jobs in March. However, a few mathematical asterisks undermine even that disappointing number...

Congress: The TSA Is Wasting Hundreds Of Millions In Taxpayer Dollars from the oversight-indeed dept The House Oversight Committee has come out with a report slamming the TSA for tremendous amounts of waste, specifically in the "deployment and storage" of its scanning equipment. Basically, it sounds like the TSA likes to go on giant spending sprees, buying up security equipment and then never, ever using it. A few data points As of February 15, 2012, the total value of TSA’s equipment in storage was, according to TSA officials, estimated at $184 million. However, when questioned by Committee staff, TSA’s warehouse...
