Three SUNY Albany students who claimed they were victims of a racially motivated attack on a city bus might face charges themselves after surveillance footage apparently debunked their story.... The three students, who are all black women, initially said up to a dozen white classmates spewed racial insults and ganged up on them. But the video, which has not been released to the public, shows one of the alleged victims throwing the first punch, as well as one alleged victim using a slur against a white passenger...the footage shows no evidence of racism directed at the students.

A handful of video recordings of the alleged racial assault on three black University at Albany students last weekend do not clearly show the women being attacked on a bus by a large group including white men, two community leaders who saw the recordings said Friday. ALBANY, GA (WALB) - On Wednesday, a police officer was escorted from a classroom at Darton State College. The officer is a student at the college, and was wearing his full police uniform. The teacher was reportedly uncomfortable with having a gun in the classroom, and asked the officer to be escorted out. The capital of New York State has joined other cities in restricting the ability for gun owners to store them in their own home. A law has come into effect passed by the City Council requiring all guns to be locked in safes or using a gun lock at home. Small businesses are already struggling to survive the spate of minimum wage increases to $15 per hour in parts of California. Last month, the small Bay Area town of Emeryville, California, (population 10,000) decided to act as flag-bearer for raising the minimum wage in California, hiking its minimum wage to $14.44 per hour. A Berkeley, California man died last December after paramedics were delayed nearly an hour because of an unruly protest against police brutality, recently released records show.
