Chipmaker AMD has released new microcode updates to mitigate the Spectre variant 2 side-channel attack, which Microsoft has supported with a Windows 10 patch for AMD systems. Intel finished 2017 on a high note with revenue that handily topped expectations - especially in its key data center group, according to quarterly financial results issued Thursday afternoon.
