April 5, 2003; Hundreds of flags, patriotic music and the Pledge of Allegiance from a powerful PA system manned by local DJs, positive enthusiastic responses from most of the thousands of people driving past, an array of flags from Coalition countries, back-packed coffee urns moving up and down the line of 250-300 Pro-American Troop-Supporting Patriots who braved the cold windy conditions this past Saturday to stand shoulder to shoulder lining a couple of blocks along the East side of Prospect Avenue. Uncle Sam was there as a group of hardy, leather-clad, flag-waving Harley riders. Red, white and blue cup cakes,...

<p>More than 1,000 people gathered yesterday at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl to honor members of the Army's 442nd Regimental Combat Team who were killed in action or are deceased.</p>
<p>But for many there, the ceremony was an opportunity to say thanks to team members who, during one dramatic year between June 1944 and May 1945, fought racial prejudice while making military history.</p>

Two enormous men waving enormous flags epitomized the Support Our Troops Rally in Bushnell Park, in the middle of Hartford, CT, yesterday. The person waving a large, red U.S. MARINES Flag, was our Freeper, Jim Bancroft. The second was an American of African Ascent (AAA-My new term ...), Earl Jackson, who was waving a large red AIRBORNE Flag. If you were an American, you felt proud and safe. If you were an enemy of America, your first thought would be to find a bathroom fast, then flee. About 300 people assembled in front of the large covered stage in front...

COURTHOUSE RALLYIn what has become a weekly event, approx. 40 Patriots gathered Saturday with signs and flags in front of the Jefferson County Courthouse steps to show support for our great nation and the men and women serving in our armed forces. Although attendance was lower than last week’s impressive 200+ turnout (due in part to the absence of the Kentucky Freedom Cruisers), the enthusiasm of the crowd made up for that. After the opening prayer and reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance, Freeper BlueOneGolf provided an update on Operation Iraqi Freedom. Metro Councilman Doug Hawkins, who last week gave...

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) -- More than 15,000 people packed a waterfront park Saturday, many waving American flags and patriotic signs, as speakers including Gov. Jeb Bush showed their support for the troops fighting in Iraq. The military men and women are "the next greatest generation," Bush said. "Each generation has its defining moments," said Bush, the president's younger brother. "This generation's legacy is being written now, on the seas and in sands of the Middle East." The Rally for America was the latest in a series of such gatherings across the country inspired by syndicated radio talk show host Glenn...

Barry Sheffield of Collierville attends the Rally for America at Olive Branch. Olive Branch rallies for the troops About 2,000 show for patriotic event By Jennifer Biggs biggs@desotoappeal.com April 6, 2003 David Taylor showed up at Olive Branch City Park early Saturday and was rewarded for it. "I was issued the first flag they gave out this morning," Taylor said. Sporting a T-shirt that read "Proud to be an Air Force Dad" and a USAF cap with two flags sticking out the top, Taylor was just one of about 2,000 patriotically dressed folks at the Rally for America. His...

Carla Jackson had a hard time fighting back her tears. Wearing the sweatshirt she had made while her husband was in Operation Desert Storm, she was taken back by the emotion of Saturday's Support the Troops Rally at the Pritchard Community Center in Elizabethtown. "At first, it didn't seem like the community out in town or at Fort Knox was doing anything," she said, "but everyone came out in full force today." Jackson, whose husband, Tracy is a platoon sergeant deployed to Kuwait with Fort Knox's 233rd Transportation Company, was one hundreds of people who flooded the center with red,...

For troops, only love An estimated 20,000 turn out to support U.S. troops in Iraq - and one another - at a rally at Coachman Park in Clearwater. By AMY WIMMER, Times Staff Writer © St. Petersburg Times published April 6, 2003 CLEARWATER -- Barbara Gibb wore a "Marine Mom" T-shirt, carried an American flag and held a placard with a photo of Lance Cpl. Shawn Bosel, who turns 20 today somewhere in Iraq. To the thousands of people at Coachman Park in Clearwater on Saturday morning, she was the next best thing to a hero in their midst. "Thank...

For the last few weeks a diehard group of local activists have been rallying on the pedestrian overpass into heavily Democratic West Seattle. W. Seattle was the scene of several antiwar protests before the war started, but then they petered out. Meanwhile one Rob Nessley started waving the flag at the overpass every Friday during afternoon rush hour. Yesterday he was joined by about 10 others. Check out this video I took. I think we got a pretty good response for Seattlites! Low-bandwidth hi-bandwidth (might take a minute to load even with DSL)

We met on the Streets of Boca Raton Florida again today, to rally in support of The United States military and show our appreciation for their bravery in defending our Constitution. Over 100 people showed up, more than double last week’s participation. Many people parked their cars and joined in the tribute and we stayed around till sunset. We were cheered on by honking Bentleys, Rolls, Jaguars, Chevys, Fords, Harleys, Rice Burners and Rust Buckets. Today’s event was a wonderful example of the diversity in our Nation, standing as one to pay tribute to the courage of the men and...

There was an impressive show of support for our troops and our Commander in Chief this afternoon in Harvard Square, Cambridge. Yes, you read that correctly: HAHVUD SQUARE! Right in the middle of zip code 02138, "the most opinionated zip code in America" according to a popular local T shirt. I estimate that there were at least 25 of us waving the Stars and Stripes and cheering for the good 'ole US of A. The cold and dampness were dispelled by the enthusiastic response we got from many bypassers. The horn blasts from passing fire trucks and ambulances were particularly...

Marchers hit streets to tack emblems on cars, buildings, trees Folks in Fieldsboro, New Jersey waved American flags, shouted patriotic slogans and sang songs while hitting the streets this afternoon to protest the Democrat council's decision to ban yellow ribbons on municipal property. Led by Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa, about 100 marchers tacked ribbons to trees and to the front door of the building that serves as town hall for the borough's 522 residents, according to the Associated Press. The crowd cheered when Sliwa stuck a big yellow bow onto the hood ornament of the mayor's Lincoln. The decision...

A brief report from "behind enemy lines" at Park Street, Boston --------------------- A merry band of weather-resistant patriots was on hand this afternoon to greet an Appeasenik rally at Park Street. My Fellow Freepers included Lev the photographer and Aaron the poet. We handed out "FREE IRAQ" posters, an "ANSWER is not the Answer" flyer, and some brilliant propaganda pieces from www.protestwarrior.com (check it out). Most of the appeaseniks didn't know quite what to make of us, but there were about a half-dozen "thugs for peace" [sic], at least one of whom was from ANSWER. The thugs got VERY agitated...

<p>Unhappy with the mayor's policy banning yellow ribbons on municipal property, ralliers marched through town Saturday, tacking the offending emblems on everything from the front door of the town hall to the mayor's car.</p>
<p>Led by Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa, about 100 marchers left ribbons along the main street, then affixed dozens more to a pine tree when they reached an old school building that now serves as town hall for this central New Jersey borough's 522 residents.</p>

Bemusement at the Left. Today, our troops turned out about 15 to their 25. Their signs were small and illegible. Ours, thanks to the resources available on FR, were bright and to the point. The "No Blood for Oil" argument was quickly dismembered, and we did a show of hands for all those who had actually ridden to the rally upon their horses. They had a couple of incredibly bitchy women (sorry, folks, but what IS it about these leftie women? Ugly and pushy, to boot) getting in our faces and trying to hide our signs. I asked one what...

This Freep is dedicated to the memory of Staff Sgt. Donald May, Jr., USMC, Chesterfield, VA. Being a little early, I was able to park the Freep-Mobile directly in front of the Va. Museum of Fine Arts where the Women in Black (I'm just going to call them WIB's from now on) gather before their march down the Boulevard. I hung an American Flag on the side of the truck and “EVIL TRIUMPH’S WHEN GOOD MEN DO NOTHING” with the Eagle, Globe & Anchor emblem on it. A few of the WIB’s were sporting yellow ribbons this week. One of...

Today Saturday was a great day for America and a very bad day for the pencil necked tofu eating gender challenged cowardly appeasenik terrorist lovers. At Veterans Park today the Pro America Rally was cancelled. It was a cold overcast ice-rainy slushy day, that had been preceeded by an even worse thunder and lightening ice storm night. So... the event was cancelled and it was annouced as cancelled on T.V. That my friends is the good news. Why? Because the park filled up ANYWAY!. Thats right! When I got there there were 3 former Marine vets. Thats all. I joined...

Ventura County loves its troops! There was a very successful rally held at the Port Hueneme Naval Base today at the corner of Channel Islands and Ventura. This rally was organized by friends and families of our brave troops and was truly a grassroots effort. Over 100 people attended - include some of our freepers! A platoon of Junior Marines came over and have a loud HOORAA, Papa John's brought over pizza and somebody else dropped off a ton of cookies! Hopefully, some of the freepers took pictures and will post them. The rally was so successful that another one...

Today ten members and lurkers from the Houston Chapter of FR (H.A.T.) gathered for another show of support of our troops, our country, and our President. Today's event was familiar surroundings for many of them, as the place was the Galleria, site of many Election 2000 Freeps. We regret to inform our freezing friends up North, but with sunny skies and temperatures in the low 80's, winter has finally left Houston for good. The featured sign was again the "We Support Our Troops" banner, but other "Support Our Troops" and U.S. Flags of various size were also present. Also present...

earlier today (04-05-03), there was a pro-america rally in Medford Square, MA. About 15 people showed up and represented all generations. the first to show up was a New Hampshire native, i'm sorry i forgot his name. then i joined and by 9:50 we had a sizeable group. another FReeper was Guinnessboy. we had some good signs: "First Iraq Then Chirac" "Communists/Students get paid to protest" "Support our troops" "honk to support our troops" "the U.N. is U.N.prepared, U.N.important, U.N.necessary, U.N.American" and "BELIEVE!". there were some people from UJP, they clocked in at 10:00 exact and out at 12:00 exact...

I arrived at the Stop and Shop Plaza on route 35 in Keyport NJ at about 3:10 pm. Keyport is in Monmouth County, about half an hour or so from NYC. The guest speaker (and organizer) was to be Guardian Angels founder and WABC 770 AM radio personality Curtis Sliwa. Curtis was late, as he was coming from a previous rally in Fieldsboro (?sp?) NJ, the mayor of which gained notoriety for banning public displays of flags or yellow ribbons on public property. While waiting with the crowd (about 200 and still growing), I was able to reach the Mark...

April 5, 2003 at Hot Springs, Arkansas from 1300-1500 there was a SUPPORT out TROOPS Rally! We had aprooximately 200 supporters at one time, but there were people coming and going so I would estimate amybe around 300 max. Not big, but not too bad considering the location of the rally and no signs giving directions. This was off the main roads. Pictures? I'm posting only my favorite one (I shrunk them down for speed) click on the links to see the rest Picture-2 - Picture-3 - Picture-4 - Picture-5 - Picture-6

The Fires of Hell await us, Brothers and Sisters of the Freep. At least that is what local peaceniks have predicted for us “warmongers.” In their willful blindness they turn their heads from the hell on earth created by Saddam’s torture chambers and tyranny and refuse to remember the fiery hell of the WTC created by Saddam’s allies in sprit, OBL and his ilk. Judgment Day is Coming. Freedom is Coming. We will just have to wait to see which souls get the fires and which get the virgins. The Vigil for Peace is starting to have a theme running...

I'm probably the first person from Free Republic who attended the Coachman Park Flag Fest that's already home. I selected the front page for this report because those of us in attendance from Free Republic invited rally participants to visit us here. It will be much easier for them to be welcomed on the front page. Welcome. I will have pictures from the rally and will be posting other links here. Flyers were flying in addition to all the American, British and military flags. There were some great signs too. I was interviewed for local television but as time is...
