As of today, recreational cannabis consumption is legal in Canada. While many Canadian citizens and companies will be celebrating the reform, not to mention preparing to capitalize on this green-golden opportunity, the Canadian oil and gas industry will be ringing in the new era with considerably less enthusiasm. Canadian oil companies and workers’ unions are busy scrambling to finalize a plan to maintain safe operating standards in an era of legal and easily attainable marijuana. In Canada’s oil sands, workers perform risky maneuvers and operate heavy equipment daily, making health and safety an especially critical issue. Legal weed poses a...

President Donald Trump's approval rating among members of the military has slipped slightly since he took office two years ago, according to a poll by Military Times. Trump's most recent overall approval rating was 43.8 percent, down from 46.1 percent in 2016. His disapproval rating was 43.1 percent, up from 37 percent two years ago. Troops overwhelmingly support Trump's handling of military issues over that of former President Barack Obama, however. More than 60 percent said they believe the military is in better shape now than under Obama and nearly the same number have a favorable view of Trump's handling...

You will recall that Dianne Feinstein was sent a letter from Christine Blasey Ford: July 31 (Day 25): Feinstein writes Ford. “The letter promises not to share Ford’s letter without her explicit consent. Ford did not provide this letter to the Committee.” AFTER Feinstein received the letter she met with Brett Kavanaugh in private: Between July 30 and Aug. 7 (Days 24 to 32): Feinstein and her staff recommend to Ford “that she engage Debra Katz,” a far-left attorney spotted at anti-Trump rallies. As Gregg Jarrett of Fox News reports, Katz has said: “We are going to resist. We will not be silenced.” Michael Bromwich...

The Trump bandwagon is swinging into top gear--with Jordan in the box seat and the PLO left flailing way behind. Any lingering thought that the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) would have any role to play in President Trump’s soon to-be-released peace plan has vanished - after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that $165 million had been deducted from funding to the PLO because of its continuing “pay for slay” policy in breach of the Taylor Force Act. Jordan has now signalled its preparedness to replace the PLO by publicly supporting Trump in an article written in the Jordan Times...

There’s only one non-violent way for us to win…that’s via an insurmountable vote for Republicans. Vote for your own and your family’s survival on November 6! And…then pray hard. If nothing else, Democrat operatives are good at following the orders of their betters. They have followed California Rep. Mad Max Waters’ command to go after Republicans “wherever you find them” and “I have no sympathy for these people that are in this administration who know it’s wrong for what they’re doing on so many fronts. They tend to not want to confront this president or even leave, but they know...

Make no mistake about where “Resistance” leader Barack Obama is during the last weeks of the Midterm Election campaign What can hidden “Resistance” leader, former President Barack Obama and his handpicked protege for the 2016 presidential election possibly do to the USA from their D.C. underground activism network? Send a 2,000-and-still-growing march of Hondurans on the U.S.—with a Nov. 6 Midterm Election Day arrival just for sport!

Shrieking Leftist Harpies Turn #MeToo and #BelieveWomen, into #HimToo and #NotAllMen Recently a friend called me a Gladiatrix because I stand up to evil, corruption and wrongdoing – essentially, the corrupt political majority in California. I thanked her and told her that it takes one to know one. She’s a conservative radio talk show host who also exposes the radical left, and is a Gladiatrix in her own right. In stark contrast to being named a Gladiatrix, last week I wrote about the hysterical barking shrews, who attempted to destroy the character of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, nominated to the Supreme...

“Hannah” is a rather special rifle, a Model 1874 Sharps from C. Sharps Arms that was “built around” a Badger No. 2 barrel in .44 caliber. The No. 2 barrels are heavy and that, as a result, gives this Hartford-style rifle a weight of over 15 pounds. Chambered for the .44-77 Sharps cartridge, Hannah is very pleasant to shoot and will reward this shooter with some very good groups. The idea for this rifle stemmed from a note I received from Pat Dulin at C. Sharps Arms, who wrote to tell me they had found this No. 2 Badger .44-caliber...

It falls to Michael Moore’s empty stomach to help explain to me the difference between hope and optimism. “Right now, I’m hoping that somebody will feed me today,” he says. But that hope is passive. It may whet his appetite, but the disappointment will be all the more crushing if it isn’t satisfied. On the other hand, he explains, optimism is constructive, strategic. “I’m in a first world country, and somewhere I have a wallet with a credit card and some money in it. So the optimist in me has credibility, because it’s safe to say I will eat. Does...

Today’s post is in honor of Staff Sgt. Jarred S. Fontenot, who was killed in action on this day in 2007. The 35-year-old native of Port Barre, La. died in Baghdad of wounds from an improvised explosive device and enemy small-arms fire. Fontenot was assigned to 2d Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 2d Brigade Combat Team, 2d Infantry Division. 1775: A small British fleet commanded by Capt. Henry Mowat bombards the town of Falmouth, Mass. (modern-day Portland, Maine), setting most of the coastal settlement on fire with incendiary cannonballs. Mowat then sends a landing party ashore to destroy any buildings that...

• Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes says the federal government could give U.S. workers a stipend of $500 per month by repealing the Trump tax cuts. • Hughes, an advocate for a basic income, argues that less than a third of Americans have reaped the benefits of the president's tax cuts. Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes said Thursday the federal government could give U.S. workers a stipend of $500 per month by repealing the tax cuts passed late last year. Hughes, author of "Fair Shot: Rethinking Inequality and How We Earn" and an advocate for a basic income, argued that less than...

The artwork hanging in the White House depicts the US president drinking with his Republican predecessors They say a picture is worth a thousand words, unless it’s a shredded Banksy, obviously, which is worth around £1m. But how to put a value on the majestic artwork Donald Trump was revealed to have gracing the wall outside the Oval Office, as eagle-eyed viewers of 60 Minutes spotted? So far, we know of two other “artworks” that Trump has: that Photoshopped picture of his inauguration crowd (dude, let it go), and the electoral college map. It is no wonder Trump wanted to...

If Janice the Elder – God rest her soul – were still with us we would have been schooled on this 4chan phenomenon months ago. Gamers were the first to note the birth of the NPC meme, understand and advance the reference. As it is now running the internet - and I note some of you have posted some of the funnier memes here for our enjoyment - it is time we school ourselves thoroughly. In a nutshell ‘NPC’ stands for non-player character – as in a video game. They serve as bots, programed with algorithms to provide canned responses...

The past several years have witnessed the radical left using law enforcement as a political target, which has increased the risks for those in uniform and hurt public safety. Andrew Gillum, the so-called “democratic socialist” candidate for governor of Florida, represents the triumph of the progressive left’s approach to law enforcement, and a victory by him in November would lead to a statewide increase in crime. That Florida would see such a rise under Gillum is not fanciful speculation but an obvious inference from his tenure as mayor of Tallahassee. On his watch, the city/Leon County metro area has had...

When I started handloading my ammunition, one of the immediate attractions was the diverse array of projectiles that were unavailable to those who were limited by factory ammunition. Not only could I control the velocity and accuracy of my hand loaded ammunition, but I could choose those bullets that gave the best terminal performance as well. That was a long time ago and the Barnes X bullet was relatively new on the market. I loved the concept: an all-copper hollowpoint bullet, which had neither jacket nor core to separate. The hollowpoint opened up into four petals, and the resulting expanded...

MSNBC contributor Jason Johnson accused President Trump of racism Wednesday night in his analysis of Trump's reaction to the alleged murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the hands of agents of the Saudi government. For good measure, Johnson has suggested that Trump is an admirer of murderers. Appearing on Ari Melber's MSNBC show The Beat, Johnson imagined President Trump stating that, concerning Khashoggi: "I don't care, it was a brown journalist."

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace said that she had previously told then-presidential candidate Jeb Bush that “he should have punched” President Donald Trump “in the face” after one of the primary debates in 2016. During an episode of Wallace’s show “Deadline: White House” on MSNBC on Thursday, she was discussing Bush’s feud with Trump. Bush and Trump used to have heated debates in 2015 and 2016 before the former governor of Florida dropped out of the race. Former Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele was discussing one instance when Bush called out Trump during a Republican debate. "Let me tell you,...

Making college admissions “test-optional” has been steadily gaining steam among elite and liberal arts American colleges. In late September, Colby College and Rosemont College joined the hundreds of other institutions that do not require their applicants to submit standardized test scores to be admitted to the school. Other schools that have “test-optional” policies include Bowdoin College, Bryn Mawr College, George Washington University, Sarah Lawrence College, the University of Chicago, and Wake Forest University. And now, the University of California system has announced plans to study whether including standardized tests adds value to the admissions process. Many observers, including students, scholars,...
