Judge Robert Simpson has effectively decided to block part of the law. Following his ruling, voters will still be asked for a valid voter ID at the poll. But if they don’t have it, they will still be able to cast their vote in the usual manner. Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson's once smooth ride toward a third term has hit a snag, says a new poll, which shows the Florida lawmaker locked in a dead heat with Republican challenger Rep. Connie Mack. The results of an independent survey by Gravis Marketing shows each candidate with the support of 43 percent of likely voters, though 14 percent are undecided. The result is contrary to recent surveys, including four separate independent polls taken in September that pegged Mr. Nelson with a 14-point lead.

(CNN) - President Barack Obama and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney spoke separately with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by telephone on Friday, the day after the Israeli leader publicly urged the international community to draw a "clear red line" with Iran over its suspected nuclear development program.
