Actually, there have been crucifixion vitcim's skeleton's found in the Holy Land with nails through the hands. It's believed that they had their arms tied to the crosses to aid in supporting their weight.

But we, he terminally ugly, have given up on that kind of thing. :) Oh, not big on sports, I'm a voracious reader, and sadly, the church in my neighborhood has gone uber-liberal, a sad thing as I loved my hometown catholic church.
